it's a warrior cats adaptation of my human oc story "forgive the lonely"! though naturally a lot of things had to be adjusted in order to fit the environment and prevent too much unnecessary plot clutter lol the story primarily follows snowhare and summerstorm as they navigate their lives.
snowhare is the son of viperstar and carries a legacy upon his back-- the clan's high ranks are all kin to one another, including his littermate jackrabbit as the newest healer. unfortunately, snowhare is quite sensitive and anxious which clashes pretty seriously with valleyclan's values and personality. this leaves him vulnerable for abuse and maltreatment from his superiors. despite this, he retains his kindness with the encouragement of his sister elkwood.
summerstorm is originally from leveeclan and is also a victim of abuse, though it was contained within his now-broken family unit. he was the favorite child of his mother and thus seen as competition for both his brothers and his father. eventually his father scorchingstorm killed shybeetle by accident and summerstorm decided he would run away and live with his friend hopdust in valleyclan.
book 1 is about snowpaw and summerstorm facing trials to become full warriors of valleyclan-- snowpaw had failed his assessment and summerstorm only has one moon to prove he can adapt to valleyclan life. in an effort to prove themselves, they become close friends and work together to earn their place as warriors. this friendship would bloom into something deeper, but snowhare's affections lie elsewhere and summerstorm doesn't know how to cope with that.
the rest of the series would follow their adulthood and summerstorm's struggle to keep snowhare's attention and how it shifts from a personal grievance to a clan-wide problem that results in cats around them injured or even dead...
ive posted a few vague "spoilers" here and there both in writing and art/animation. im super excited to work on it and share it with people but i have no idea where to post the chapters LOL
