The last 8+ months have been interesting. I've had toxic people removed from my life, which was great for me since I sometimes still have a difficulty with wanting to help people who don't want help, by they are simply emotional vampires who feed off my empathy and support.

I've been unemployed since May, which has caused periodic bursts of anxiety and concern whether I would end up homeless on occasion. I did have a temp job which ended Saturday, so I should be good for a few more months while I keep applying for jobs.

Got a message yesterday that my mom had a "minor" heart attack, so she's currently in the hospital and will be there for a couple of days at least. She was fortunate and there were some signs beforehand and she was convinced to go to the ER and they were able to get medications onboard quickly. There is some other family drama with this too, but I guess that's life.

While all of that sounds negative, this year has been great. With the exception of the heart attack, all of these things are positive (with one mixed positive/negative with one situation) and things have been great. I've gotten a lot of things accomplished, been able to reconnect with a number of people I haven't seen in years and encourage and comfort them by sharing some experiences I have had. It's been a really incredible year and I am so fortunate in so many ways.

Anyway, that's my 2024 update so far....got online to share here since it's anonymous and all and wanted to just get some stuff out. I might check back in again in a few more months. I have gotten on a couple of times to just see if anything was happening with people and respond to messages, but it'll probably be a while before I do that again, just an fyi.

I hope everyone else is having a great 2024, be kind to one another and remember to always be thankful for what you have since you never know when you might experience a loss of something you thought would always be around.

1 Corinthians 16:14 says, "Let all that you do be done in love". This verse appears at the end of Paul's letter, between travel plans and greetings.

I find it interesting that so many people get angry or confrontational about quotes from the Bible, yet they don't from other spiritual/religious texts that have similar sayings. Why would someone disagree with the statement of "Let all you do, be done in love." ? We should be caring for one another and loving one another and not just using others for our own personal gain.

I hope everyone has an amazing 2024 and beyond. This will be my final post and is queued for midnight on January 1, my time zone. I have met some wonderful people and made some amazing friends on here. I have also experienced the polar opposite with some people. But all my interactions have at least given me better insight into humans and provided me insight into myself.

I am thankful for all of those interactions, even the ones of people who befriended me with less than honourable intentions.
