I’ve been obsessed with this tiktok for days now
Person: "Hello sir." he pets the frog with one finger.
Person: "Have a good day. Actually wait a minute. You missed a bug, but I got you home boy. Hold on." he picks a bug up and throws it next to the frog.
Frog: turns around and eats the bug.
Person: "OHHHHH-" sings high pitched and angelic like he witnessed a miracle.
you ignore the fact the oohhh was in the tune to ave maria

the thing is that the way people treat trans women they don't like is that the behavior they're engaging in is like as old as (and even older than) the modern generation of transphobic backlash against the trans liberation moment
Beth Elliott is a transfem folk singer who was involved with West Coast lesbian political movements in the 70s. her inclusion was debated for a while, partly because she was transgender, but also because a lesbian who she used to have a relationship with was involved with a separate lesbian group, who protested against her inclusion at a lesbian conference that she had helped to set up. the conference took a vote that resulted in the majority saying she should be allowed to stay, but the trans-exclusive lesbians refused to allow the vote to hold. she performed once on the first night, and then didn't return, and the next night one of the speakers delivered a speech that was changed from her original notes to be more of a transphobic screed against Elliot, alleging her of having "the mentality of a rapist". this incident certainly didn't *invent* the idea of trans women being rapists, but it does predate The Transsexual Empire by several years and was definitely a contributing factor to its creation.
and i say "is" at the top of this story because Beth Elliott is still alive!!!! this incident was not that long ago!!!!! it DID damage her career, however, and it practically made her a social pariah. but it's the same type of shit people do to trans women to this very day. these tactics are relatively recent overall but they are still time honored traditions with trans-exclusive feminists.
this isn't even about michfest is the crazy part. this incident happened in 1973, and michfest as an event started 3 years later in 1976. the first michfest where trans women were explicitly removed from the event took place in 1991, after it had already been running for 25 years. the type of thinking that caused the organizers of michfest to push trans women out of participating in an event they had long been a part of was the same type of thinking that had caused lesbian activists to push Beth Elliott out of the event she had organized as well as her career, and it's the same type of thinking that led to writings like The Transsexual Empire coming into existence.
the statement: "a legal theory was proposed in which trans women could be targeted without violating the Constitution because other women and other trans people are excluded from our specific oppression, which suggests that transmisogyny is real and that transmisogyny affected and exempted are meaningful categories for analysis of our material conditions."
the response: "you are sowing divisions in our community by saying this. everyone has to get on board to fix things, which will only happen if you stop bringing this up. you are crazy, paranoid, and confused and the more you talk about your problems, the more we'll blame you for the violence that's done to you."
the smug condescension of a man who, upset that his privilege has been identified, asserts his male privilege knowing that a fair number of people will hop on board the "trans women are paranoid and divisive" train rather than interrogating their own biases and coming to the defense of more vulnerable members of their community.
the cherry on top was the tags, where he addressed the transfem he reblogged by name and said "I'm disappointed in you" as if she had done something wrong by sharing a post about her specific oppression. it's genuinely gross how trans women are treated so poorly so casually. how dare we speak?
And the original statement is really intersectionality 101.
In Crenshaw's original paper, the literal first example was a company that fired all the black women but successfully argued in court that it wasn't discrimination on gender or race because they kept the black men and the white women.
Changing the context from black women to trans women doesn't fundamentally change the applicability of intersectional theory, even while the specifics of the oppression may change a lot.
A mouth-watering fuck-ton of hand angle references.

BLESS YOU, YOU WONDERFUL PERSON
We're at the "JK Rowling is personally funding litigation to try and destroy AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL" stage of rabid UK terf brain.

Tldr Amnesty International, global human rights organisation, published a report called 'A growing threat: the anti-rights movement in the UK'. In it is detailed, amongst others, a whole bunch of transphobic groups and organisations, including Beira's Place, JK Rowling's trans exclusionary sexual violence support service. JK Rowling threw a shit fit and got Amnesty to take the report down by threatening libel. This was obviously not enough, because you can't appease a fascist, so now she's going to bankroll a bunch of lawsuits anyway through the JK Rowling Women's Fund.*
You can read an archived version of the report here, please save it and share it.
*Not so friendly reminder there is no way to engage in the wizard books without enabling this shit.

anyone with a "puppy play" blog regardless of gender identity should be lined up and shot in the back of the head for fetishizing the sanctity of nature and treating animals like a commodity to be owned
what the fuck
@ yjngshdsng69835
Why are trans men, and generally non-transfems allowed to be kinky and have full-on fetish blogs? Why are trans men allowed to have puppyplay kinks, but if a trans woman has an ageplay kink, suddenly she's a pedophile, a child predator, an abuser, literally hitler, and all of the transphobic slurs in the book?
Why are non-transfems allowed to be kinky in "weird" ways but once a trans woman has a kink that she plays in private, shes constantly sexually harassed and possibly even doxxed?
Why aren't trans women allowed to be adults that have fetishes and literally just normal sexual behaviour that they act consensually with another adult? Why not?
