OKAY ONE MORE POST BUT. Letho never willingly hurts helpless people. He’s not sadistic either, every kill is ‘clean’ and as quick as possible. He doesn’t gloat, doesn’t torture, doesn’t revel in slaughter. All the people he targets in tw2 are more than capable of defending themselves-- kings with plenty of personal guards around them, guerillas, special unit forces, mages, etc. Remember in tw3 when he’s about to blow up the barn where the bounty hunters who are after him are hiding? Instead of just doing that, he gives that little boy a coin in compensation and tells him to go get his family and evacuate. And that’s just. That’s my whole point.

Friendly reminder that despite the fact that pretty much everyone sees and treats Letho as a big, mindless brute (which he’s more than aware of), he managed to outwit the following in the span of, like, less than a year: the Nilfgaardian intelligence, Demavend and everyone close to him (advisors, guards, etc.), everyone at La Vallete castle, Foltest and his army, Roche and the Blue Stripes, Iorweth and his commando, Triss, Philippa, Sheala and everyone else involved with the Lodge, and also Geralt.
