The water wasn’t deep here, so he had to stay really close to the bottom to avoid detection before switching back to human form. Well, mostly, but humans don’t get into hysterics over large ominously black shadows in the water anyways, not really. He was debating between actually heading back up or going out for another loop when he the faint splash of sometime plunging into the water above him.

Normally he’d dismiss the sounds to casual human activity but they were quite a ways off from the swim line there was so subsequent reving of any sort to motor. Curiousity had him squinting upwards and, upon closer inspection, found the source indeed be a human, though they did not appear to want to be in the water very much. So much for the extra lap.

Trying to stay discreet, Gongyi swims upwards towards the figure, drawing inwards on himself as he went till he compressed into a human form once more. Let’s hope he didn’t noticed the transformation light, he thinks, just before surface next to the human. “Hey you uh, want some help?”

it’d actually be pretty fucking hard not to notice the swirling lights under the surface.  especially considering that bryn is, you know, almost fully submerged.  but the boy who shows up doesn’t seem --- too threatening, or anything.  just a helping hand, hopefully.  

“ uh, yeah.  some help would be fun, ” bryn agrees.  the cold water makes him shudder again.  so he’s really in no place to deny the help.  “ i’m not really much of a swimmer. ”

☾     evenings were lo’gania’s “me” time as she called it– that is if the titans weren’t off risking their lives for mankind. thankfully, this night was all hers and she explicitly had plans to fly over the water. something about it late at night always soothed her. her peacefulness was shortlived, however, at the sight of a spark and a hand slipping under the water. was that a spark? even she couldn’t be too sure, but she knew damn well that someone was in the water. not even thinking twice or taking a deep breath, the alien dove under the water in search of the person.

while it did take her a few moments to realize he was hiding under the dock, she was extremely relieved to see he was doing so. recognizing his face immediately, she pulled him close to her person in hopes of her body heat (that hardly ever seemed to drop) would offer some comfort in the cold water. “bryn, what happened to you? why are you in here?”

   bryn gives a sigh of relief when he realizes his company isn’t hostile.  he gives a half-hearted, breathless smile to lo’gania.  “ i was -- dealing with some smugglers by the dock, and needed to hide, ” he explains as he treads water.  he grabs ahold of the edge of the dock so he can pull himself back out into the open.  he offers his hand back to lo’gania so he can pull her back up, too.

well, this doesn’t exactly fare well.  completely drenched, bryn is pretty much going to be of no use to anyone.  when he lifts his hand from the water, he can only produce a quick spark, one that quickly fizzles against his wet skin.  if he panics, this will go south a lot faster though, so he takes a couple deep, slow breaths.  

he closes his eyes as he tries to will his heart to slow. ( it doesn’t exactly work )  how, in the heat of pre-summer, the bay can be so fucking cold is absolutely beyond him, but he at least manages to quiet his breath while he lurks under the dock, waiting for backup.

They likely formed from gas clouds too small to form full galaxies, but to big to form open star clusters.” A beaming smile spread over his face as he looked up at his victim. “Are you… Did that make sense?”

   “ um, yeah.  it makes perfect sense.  i don’t really know a lot about space, but that was pretty easy to follow.  so -- ” bryn looks at the kid for a few seconds before shrugging.  “ you’re real into space, i take it ?? ”

Oswald waved his hand so that his employees would leave the office. he sighed and looked up at the intruder to his club. “ Geeze, Some people just don’t respect privacy anymore. Please sit, i didn’t get your name?… lets have a chat since you’ve barged right in here”

   bryn’s actually starting to think that he might have...stumbled into the wrong office.  oops.  “ uh -- right.  um, i’m bryn.  it’s nice to meet you. ”  except it’s not. bryn is no dummy; this is cobblepot.  bryn’s really trying not to get mixed up with crime lords.  at least, not while he’s out of costume.
