Anyone fancy a starter? Dorian is in the need for contact with others before the wine wears off lol
Trying to Survive by raising a son.
Imun smiled at Dorian good-naturedly before taking another bite of his food. The flavor really was good, Elias had done a fine job. “You did good,” Imun told his son before pinching his face how the orc knew he hated, “but you have a long way to go before you surpass me. I’ve got decades on you son.” Cockiness radiated from the male before he smiled to let Elias know he was only joking. The boy in turn rolled his eyes again before softly kicking his fathers foot. A mini kicking war ensued under the table between Elias, Imun, and Mazon for a few moments before Mazon fell out of her chair.
“I may not have to worry about starving to death friend.” the she orc told the mage, gripping her already darkening shin, “it’s the beatings that’ll do me in.” Mazon’s accent was thick with the sting before she found her way back to her seat.
Dorian’s eyes rolled as he watched his family start their kicking war under the table. He took a sip of his wine and scoffed lightly as he felt his son send a kick his way under the table “I swear I live with children” he says to himself “I think I’m the only adult here at times.” Dorian chuckled at Mazon “and I’ve told you if you would finally kick his ass he would stop, I can tell you some spots that put him down Maz” he said sending a wink Imun’s way so he knew what spots he was talking about, the ones only Dorian knew that made him weak in the knees.
Aunt and Nephew simultaneously gagged before kicking Imun directly in both shins. The assaulted male grunted and immediately started cussing while his attackers laughed until they cried. “No, I’m just fine without knowing those spots thank you. I could go the rest of my life without knowing them.” Mazon shuddered once more before finishing her food and wine, one after the other. Her long dark braids were tossed over her shoulders again before turning to Dorian and Imun. “So…” she began while resting her head on her hands, “Have you beaten any suitors way yet?”
Another laugh passed Dorian as both his son and friend assault Imun’s shins, his hand moves to rest on Imun’s thigh as he pushed small amount of healing magic to Imun’s poor shins. Dorian moves his head up to glare at Mazon, it was still to early for him to be talking about that “no one will be good enough for my child but, it’s up to him who he wants to take as a mate, like I did” he said “I don’t want to force nothing onto him he does not want.”
Imun nearly chocked at his cousin’s words. Elias? Seeing anyone? Orcs were not shy about affairs. They were common and not frowned upon, but the male had not seen his son with anyone. The idea itself startled Imun. Not because he didn’t want his son to be happy, but it was becoming increasingly clear that Elias wouldn’t be a boy much longer. He was nearly a man. Dorian and Imun wouldn’t have Elias to themselves for much longer. “I agree.” Imun squeezed Dorians hand on his thigh in thanks, “Elias, you choose who you want to, when you want to.” Elias simply smiled gratefully at his Papa and Da.
“Yes, that’s all good. But what about the blacksmith’s girl? She’s gorgeous, knows her way around the forge, and she’s got bi-“
“Aunt Mazon,” Elias cried in embarrassment.
“I was going to say arms!” the smirk on his aunt’s face said otherwise.
“I’ve seen her and she seems great but I’m not currently interested. I’ve got to make my own name and way first. If I have nothing to offer but what Papa and Da have done with their lives, then what’s the point?” Elias’s voice was quiet but firm.
Pride shone from Mazon and Imun. “I still think it couldn’t hurt to look around.” The she-orc covered her teary eyes with a huge gulp of wine.
Dorian turned and looked at his son “and I didn’t have much to offer when I first met Imun” he tells him “I was nothing more then a wondering mage that was on the run from a band of orcs that wanted to eat me but your aunt saved my life and I haven’t been anywhere else.” He smiled softly at his son “do not think you have to prove yourself to me and your father, we will always be proud of the man you are becoming” he says squeezing Imun’s hand back “but if you do find someone they do have to have to be good for you, someone you can fight along side.”
For once, Imun’s smile was gentle. “I agree with your Papa, Elias. Whoever you choose must be someone you can stand beside. I understand what you’re saying though.” Now the orc looked at his mate, “When I met you Dorian, I was already an established warrior. I didn’t try to use my father’s name or wealth to gain your attention. I had already built my own.“
“That’s what I’m saying.” Elias was surprisingly loud, “I can’t just use your names to pull my weight. I have to make sure my future mate knows that I have my own strength and means to take care of them.” Elias’s young face was painted with determination and confidence. He was indeed becoming a man and the sight caused Imun’s eyes to water. He was so proud of Elias
A smiled pulled up in Dorian’s tan face as he stared at his son who was becoming a man “ok, I was saving this for your birthday but I think you have proved to me and your father that your a man enough for this.” Dorian sat his drink down and brought his hands up, the started to glow lightly purple as he summoned a sword in his hands “this is a Pavus heirloom, my father didn’t even know I took it when I left but my grandfather gave it to me so I was coming with me” he tells him “but since I cast magic I had no use for it but you can use it to where I could not” he says letting the weapon float into his son’s hands. The weapon was beautiful, it’s hilt was wrapped in a purple cloth with a bright feather hanging from the end of it, the blade was sharp and looked almost jagged at the end. “My grandfather fought with it and tried to teach my but I was rubbish at it.”
Both Imun and Mazon’s eyes swam with pride. The pair of orcs smiled at Elias and waited for the young man to say something. Elias himself was stunned. The sword itself was beautiful. The craftsmanship was remarkable and the blade was well kept. Dark eyes regarded the mage across from him and Elias gently set the sword down before moving around the table. Strong arms wrapped around Dorian and his son whispered, “Thank you Papa."
A moment later, Elias moved to hug his Da, who pulled him down and squeezed him before passing him to his Aunt. Mazon gave Elias the same treatment as his Da before the young man moved back to his place. "I’ll take good care of it. I promise.”
"I know you will” he says smiling at him “it will protect you like it was supposed to do for me but I never used it.” He looks over at him “it is enchanted though” he says “I laid a few enchantments on it to help you, it will burst into flames on command when you need it to and it will become a shield against other magic.”
The wonders of magic never ceased to astonish Mazon. Imun however, was not surprised. He was well aware what Dorian was capable of and had every faith in his mate’s capability. Elias himself smiled gratefully at his papa and stood to hold the sword out in front of him. With a thought, the sword indeed burst with flames. Real flames! The heat could be felt throughout the room and the young man quickly extinguished them with a mental command. Hesitantly, Elias tapped the blade and was amazed at the lack of heat. The sword itself felt as cool as when his Papa had handed it to him!
The boy’s eyes widened, "This is amazing Papa!” a hugely pleased and grateful smile widened Elias’s face as he sheathed the weapon at his hip. “Thank you!”
"Only the best for my child” he tells him “it was time for you to receive a better weapon to protect yourself with anyways, that way I know you will be protected and won’t fall over by having a heart attack.” Dorian’s hand reached back for his mate’s hand and twisted his fingers with his own, he could feel himself wanting to start crying but the only thing stopping him was the feeling of his mate’s hand. “But no rushing off into battles yet Elias.”
Imun hoped Dorian could feel the waves of reassuring energy he was sending. He knew very well how Dorian felt. Although Imun was unbelievably proud of his son, the orc knew the dangers of real battle. Elias had really only faced a few skirmishes, nothing massive or deadly. The orc tribe fought all the time; they were always drinking together by sundown and no one ever died.
"Battle will come soon enough, but you must finish your training first.” Imun agreed with his mate. Elias just nodded. He was rather wise for such a young man.
Dorian grabbed his mate's hand as he started talking to their son about battles. He didn't want to think or even talk about this subject with his son. He couldn't imagine if something happened to his son and cause his son be took away from him. "Battles will come and your father and I will be training you both to deal with physical attacks and magical ones" he says to him "we want you always prepared for anything."

Dorian wrapped his arms around his son and held onto him tightly, he laid a kiss on his son's head and then watched as he was passed around the family. "I know you will take care of it, I've been deciding when I should give it to you but your last answer proved you were already a man in my eyes you deserve it and weapon that will serve you in fights" he said to him "you will use it more then I ever would, it would just grow dull in my care and with you it won't."

Dorian turned and looked at his son "and I didn’t have much to offer when I first met Imun” he tells him “I was nothing more then a wondering mage that was on the run from a band of orcs that wanted to eat me but your aunt saved my life and I haven’t been anywhere else.” He smiled softly at his son “do not think you have to prove yourself to me and your father, we will always be proud of the man you are becoming” he says squeezing Imun’s hand back “but if you do find someone they do have to have to be good for you, someone you can fight along side.”
For once, Imun’s smile was gentle. "I agree with your Papa, Elias. Whoever you choose must be someone you can stand beside. I understand what you’re saying though.” Now the orc looked at his mate, “When I met you Dorian, I was already an established warrior. I didn’t try to use my father’s name or wealth to gain your attention. I had already built my own."
"That’s what I’m saying.” Elias was surprisingly loud, “I can’t just use your names to pull my weight. I have to make sure my future mate knows that I have my own strength and means to take care of them.” Elias’s young face was painted with determination and confidence. He was indeed becoming a man and the sight caused Imun’s eyes to water. He was so proud of Elias
A smiled pulled up in Dorian's tan face as he stared at his son who was becoming a man "ok, I was saving this for your birthday but I think you have proved to me and your father that your a man enough for this." Dorian sat his drink down and brought his hands up, the started to glow lightly purple as he summoned a sword in his hands "this is a Pavus heirloom, my father didn't even know I took it when I left but my grandfather gave it to me so I was coming with me" he tells him "but since I cast magic I had no use for it but you can use it to where I could not" he says letting the weapon float into his son's hands. The weapon was beautiful, it's hilt was wrapped in a purple cloth with a bright feather hanging from the end of it, the blade was sharp and looked almost jagged at the end. "My grandfather fought with it and tried to teach my but I was rubbish at it."

Both Imun and Mazon rolled their eyes at Dorian. “You enjoy messing with my hair, don’t lie.” came the alpha male’s cocky retort, “You said so yourself in the bath the other night. You know, right before we-”
“That’s enough!” both Elias and Mazon cried, aunt and nephew burst into laughter at that. Truly, Elias was the joy of the family. When the boy had been brought in so many years ago, no grandchildren had been born. Imun’s mother and father were so incredibly happy to dote on the boy, so was the rest of the family. “I would like to have a few braids Aunt Maz. But,” the young man trailed off while glancing at his Da, “I don’t know if I want my hair to be as long as Da’s. That’s too much work.” the human laughed at the scandalized look on Imun’s face.
“Very well!” Mazon laughed at her cousin, “come here and I shall make a few.“
Dorian’s face flushed red as Imun started talking about their bath they had the other day before they locked themselves away. “Amatus! Please no one needs to hear about what happens between us” he said hiding his face between his hands. Dorian did love Imun’s broads they are what defines his mate, everyone that has them in their village has a different style of braids. But Dorian did make a few beads for his mate that he did get to braid in and his mate wore them every day. “Please don’t make them like your father’s half the time he has to have helping washing them or they start to stink.”
After his Da waved him off, Elias moved and sat on the floor in front of his aunt. She pulled a pouch of silver and gold beads that she’d been collecting from her satchel before combing her long fingers through his hair. The young man hummed as he relaxed, remember when his Papa or Da did this when he was a child. “Don’t fall asleep on me,” his aunt chastised with humor. Slowly, Mazon began making two small braids at each temple, tying them off with the beads before intricately weaving them at the back of his head.
“Why are you so loud?” Elias asked before he could stop himself. Briefly, the she orc stuttered before giving one braid a gentle tug while his Da just roared with laughter from the kitchen.
Eventually, Mazon finished with her nephew’s hair. There were only a couple braids throughout, but they wove around his hair and made a bun at the back of his head. Over the last few months, as Elias’ hair had gotten longer, Mazon had noticed that he liked to wear it in a bun, similar to his Da. This would be a simple way to do that. “There.” she finished with a strong pat to a shoulder.
Dorian almost had to cover his mouth to hold in the laughter that wanted to escape at his son’s words “she has been like that since I first met her” Dorian said watching his son getting the braids put into his hair “but your Aunt and Da’ are to alike they are both loud.” He smiles as Mazon finishes the braids in his son’s hair and it makes him look even more like his Da’ now with the braids and te bun. “He will fall asleep if you keep playing with his hair Mazon, it’s a weakness me and him both share” he tells his best friend as his son walks back into the kitchen.
A knowing smile pulled at Mazon’s lips and her eyes sparkled with mirth. “I remember my friend. He’s been like that since he was a boy.” Mazon took a few more sips of her wine before Imun and Elias entered the sitting room with plates of food. The seasoned and cooked rabbit was carried by Imun along with fresh rolls. Elias himself carried the yellow rice with raisins and nuts in it and the sugared dates for dessert.
“Thank you cousin…and nephew!” Mazon tossed a sheepish smile at them, “It looks wonderful.” She commented before fixing plates for everyone. It was sort of a tradition that Mazon adhered to. If she ate with them, the female made sure everyone else had a full plate before she dug into her own.
Imun nuzzled his mate’s cheek before kissing right below his ear. Mmmm, by the gods Dorian always smelled wonderful. Maybe they could skip dessert? Surely his cousin would not mind spending some time with her nephew? Before Imun’s thoughts could get too heated however, Mazon had placed a full plate of food in front of him with a knowing, cock-blocking, shit-eating grin. Imun was not impressed and glared in return.
Dorian smiled at Imun’s actions, biting his lip as his mate kissed below his ear. As Imun pulled away and glared at Mazon, he smacked his mate in the chest “behave yourself Amatus until we are at least alone” he said reaching over and kissing his mate’s cheek. Dorian laughed at Mazon’s look on her face as her cousin glared at her and she had the grin etched on her face. Dorian reached over after patting his mate’s shoulder, he reached over and kissed the top of his son’s head “you two out did yourselves again” he tells his son as he moves and sits back down beside Imun and wrapping an arm around Imun’s own arm that was closest to him.
Elias gave his papa a pleased smile before rolling his eyes at Imun. "When does Da ever behave himself?” came the snarky reply to which Imun sputtered and Mazon outright laughed. When the she orc was still cackling a few seconds later, her cousin flicked her ear, something he knew irritated her to no end. Fierce emerald met amused darkness before the pair grudgingly went back to their plates.
Mazon speared a piece of food with her fork and brought it to her mouth. Flavor burst on her tongue and she smiled warmly at her nephew, “Yes Elias! You did a wonderful job! It tastes wonderful.” A glare was tossed from Imun but Mazon ignored him in favor of a healthy sip of wine. After the liquid went down, Mazon gave a dubious look at her cousin before smiling sincerely. “You know you’re a great cook cousin. You’ve taught my nephew well.”
Dorian ate another piece of the meat that was cooked and smiled warmly at his son "I do say he has became a better cook then you Imun" he said with a teasing smirk but squeezes his mate's arm softy and then takes a sip of his wine. "I'm glad we have these two Mazon or we would surely starve to death" he said with a laugh and finishes off his plate with a sight and then leans his head against his mate's shoulder.

Dorian relaxed in his chair at the local coffee shop that was near the university, ear buds in his ears that were paired up to his phone that sat next to his open text book and the sound of his music blocked out sounds of the busy coffee shop as he studied. He scribbled notes every so often in his notebook, he had a semester final coming up in his world history class and he wanted to make sure he took down everything he could so he knew he could pass his class. Studying to be a history major was one thing that pissed his father off more then anything but, Dorian didn't want to follow in his father's footsteps and go into the family business he wanted to work with history, he loved learning anything he could about ancient cultures. A sigh left him as he sat straight for a moment and took a sip of his coffee and popped his wrist for a moment and looks around before going back to his notes.

Imun practically purred at the feel of their fingers tangled together. Even after all these years, Dorian still took his breath away.
“Yes I believe we did.” The orc rumbled with a smirk as he heard Mazon and Elias talking in their home. “I hope that someday he’ll find someone.”
“You know he will because he acts just like you Imun” he tells his mate looking up at him as he walk into their home “anybody that can put up with would be able to put up with our son” he laughs a bit and smiles at his best friend and son in the kitchen together.
Mirth filled Imun’s eyes as he regarded his mate before moving to greet Mazon. “Cousin! I trust there is nothing half dead in my kitchen?” Elias’s snort didn’t escape the orc’s notice as he grinned at his kin maniacally. Imun counted to three before the explosion hit.
“It was only one time you arse! One time!” Mazon roared before walking around him to pull Dorian in to a hug. “He is just so mean! How do you put up with him?” The half-orc grumbled at her friend. The real heat had left her voice however, she was just trying to sound tough.
Elias rolled his eyes at his aunt and da’s antics. They were always like this. His da caught his attention and nodded towards the kitchen. The duo often cooked together, it was something they enjoyed doing. As they walked into the kitchen area, Imun pulled his braids back and quickly tied them away from his face. Elias simply retied his small ponytail before they began to season the skinned rabbits waiting for them.
Dorian rolled his eyes as Mazon brought him into her arms to pull him to her side “oh you know Mazon, I tune out what he says most of the times and only stay with him for his looks” he said laughing but not really meaning his words he was stuck with Imun and Imun was stuck him and Dorian loved every minute of being with his mate.
Dorian and Mazon followed after them into their kitchen and he walks over to his son and ruffles his hair a bit as they skin their meal and Dorian walks away not liking to deal with the skinning. He kisses Imun on the cheek and walks away to get some drinks.
Both Imun and Elias chuckled as Dorian made a swift exit of the kitchen. Each continued their work with dinner and were soon cutting and seasoning the meat before dropping it into an already bubbling broth.
“You’re welcome for the broth, by the way.” Mazon called over her shoulder before following Dorian. “So,” Mazon started as she settled on a plush couch across from her friend, “Do you think you two will have more children?”
Dorian almost chocked on his wine as he stared at Mazon “why are you wanting us to have another child” Dorian asked her “we haven’t talked about it yet.” Dorian sat his drink down and looked down as he lets the thoughts run in his head, yes he has thought about before but Imun has never said anything about wanting another one. “It has crossed my mind before about wanting another child, I do love being a father” he smiled at the thought “but Imun hasn’t brought it up to me, has he to you?.”
Mazon’s smile was bright and mischievous, hopefully hiding the sharp jab of pain that went through her. “Because Dorian, I will certainly not be having children. It’s up to you two and Garreth and his wife to have little ones running around.” Now she laughed and grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses from the kitchen. Imun scolded her for getting in the way but she paid her cousin no mind.
“If I’m supposed to be the obnoxious aunt, I very well might need a few more nieces or nephews to spoil.” The she-orc tossed her long braids over her shoulder and poured the wine before handing a full glass to Dorian. She made sure to pick up his favorite from the market earlier.
“Why are you speaking to my husband about children?” Imun’s tone reflected pure amusement, “You sound like my mother!” Elias simply chuckled at his family’s antics. He was so very used to them by now.
Dorian looked over at his friend and grabbed her hand into his, seeing the look that flashed on her face. A small smile pulled up on his face “you’ll find someone one day Mazon and have little babies running around of your own that I can spoil more then my own children” he tells her squeezing her hand as she walked away into the kitchen. A blank look passed Dorian’s face as he hears Imun “she sounds nothing like your mother Imun, if she did I wouldn’t be sitting here.”
Mazon smiled gratefully at the mage before her. Another sip of wine was drawn before she chuckled, “We’ll see.” Was all the female replied with. Long fingers pulled braids over her shoulder and Mazon began to braid them.
“Elias!” Mazon called, “When will you let me put warrior braids in your hair? You’ve such beautiful curls like your Papa. Why not show them?”
A snort passed Dorian as he heard Mazon yell at his son "why must you insist on braiding his hair, his hair is to fine by putting braids in it can you not just give him war paint" he said "I do not need to be washing two sets of braids when I already have to help wash his father's." He sat his cup of wine down and looked towards his family "but it is up to him if he wants his braids or not."
Trying to Survive by raising a son.
