“You are,” he protested, tucking a stray hair behind her ear, but he nodded all the same, “the next time something goes wrong, you’re the first person I will phone. Technically you’re the only person in my contacts,” he realized with a grin. A few things weird? Jim repeated in his head…that’s vague, he thought. Although, she is far too young to be his mother, maybe his slightly older sister? He tossed that thought away, no, now he gets it, that was a super weird thing to think. Imogen is definitely not his mom or his sister so…what is she to him? She told him she slipped and fell and found it was he who was worrying now, “Oh, no, are you okay? I wish I was there to catch you like last time,” he said, feeling a warmth grow on his cheeks at the memory. “I can do that,” he found himself saying, a little too quickly, and then turning redder when Imogen said she was kidding. “Or, not, if you don’t want, I…” oh boy, “Maybe I can just rub your shoulders if that’s less weird.”
“That’d be really lovely, but the tension is really in my lower back.” Imogen said, “I wouldn’t turn down a shoulder rub though.” She said, taking his hand and squeezing it. “Come on, let’s go, before the infection enters your bloodstream and you’re a goner.” She said, giving him a cheeky smile before heading off towards the sound of the ocean. It wasn’t long until they arrived, Callie darting off to get her play-doctor kit, and Imogen bringing out the first aid box.Â
