he reminds me..... of a worn-out leather jacket with the pockets zipper up. The aftertaste of a sip of whiskey, neat. Long legs and dresses short enough for hands to wander. New faces in your bed and new bodies to mark as yours. Control and power and ambition in the highest sense. The feeling of being in charge. The desire to hear someone beg. Power-trips and inferiority-complexes. Not being wanted and having to prove that you’re better than the rest of them, anyway. Working ten times harder to show you don’t need anyone. The taste of cigarette smoke and nicotine in your longs. Lolitas and desire, nymphets and youth. Wisdom beyond your years. Physical touch. Reminding yourself that you are fucking worth ten times more than anyone else. Getting lost in a crowd. The way your head spins when you’ve had too much to drink and you’re too numb to care. Shutting your heart down and using your head instead. Perfectly tailored suits. All black everything. Chelsea boots and a cross necklace. Being God’s favorite. Moving both heaven and earth for the small family you made for yourself. Selfless motives, but selfish actions. Holding people at arm’s length. Gray cigarette smoke and the earthy scent of marijuana filling your lungs. Thinking it’s easier to forget. Caring for someone else because no one cared about you. Ink against your collarbones and knuckles. Holding the waist of a delicate girl. Gleaming watches and foreign cars. Wealth in every essence. The quiet of anger. The silence of a storm. Running away from the monsters in the dark. Locking your heart and throwing the key into the ocean. A little black book with the pages inked out--because none of them mattered anyway. Expensive cologne mingled with cigarettes and whiskey.
Zacharie might have acted like the worlds biggest grump but he did have a small group of people that he enjoyed spending his time with. The night before he had let Divinity drag him to this carnival and he was surprised to find that he actually enjoyed it. With plans too meet up with Zaiden later Zacharie was taking his time to explore the carnival, taking in all the smaller details he had missed the night before when his eye caught the sight of a familiar face.
His lips curled into a small half smile as he changed direction making his way over to where Layla was currently standing. “Well...fancy seeing you outside of the bar.” His greeting friendly, paired with a fleeting smile. Pausing to lean against the wall next to her. “I didn’t think this was really your scene,”
The crowds and the activity happening around him was enough to give Zacharie a little bit of a headache. Though he was no stranger to loud places or even crowds of people, things like this just weren’t really his scene. He had come because Divinity had really wanted to and the most time the two of them spent together, the less he found himself saying no to her. He was surprised after the initial shock of actually arriving that he found himself almost enjoying himself. Though that probably had something to do with his company, rather than the carnival itself.
He and Divnity had parted ways a little while ago and he was on his way to meet up with her, he believed she wanted to go on some of the rides or something before they left, he was having trouble making his way over to the area they had agreed on though as the street seemed to be just getting more and more crowded as he tried to make his way through the crowd. Stepping quickly out of the way as someone stepped back without looking Zacharie felt himself collide with another person.
“I’m sorry, some people don’t believe in looking where they’re going.” He rolled his eyes as the the culprit flipped him in. “They’re very polite too as you can see,” He added sarcastically offering his hand to the person he had knocked over.
The carnival proved to be rather interesting, he was surprised but pleasantly so. Taking his time to just walk around the street, just taking in each of booths selling everything from food to knick knacks. The atmosphere as a whole was rather enticing and he found himself giving in to the novelty of it all. He wasn’t surprised when he ran into yet another familiar face. It seemed that everyone he knew was turning out to see what the carnival was all about.
“Doesn’t that stuff rot your teeth?” His tone was teasing as he walked over to Eyal with a warm smile, his hand curled around a cup of coffee he had purchased for himself. Eyal was someone that he would consider a friend, and therefore he as comfortable letting his guard down a little, “honestly I don’t know how you can eat that much sugar in one sitting.”
the sight of the carnival ahead was enough to elicit excitement from her. practicallybouncing in her seat, her features were painted with a broad smile while her eyes flicked over to the other. the uber got them there quicker than anticipated, the ride being short and sweet and welcomed to the candy in a small jar settled into the backseat cup holder. avoiding the hectic parking of the event had been the main motive of not driving themselves, and upon seeing the crowd she was glad they hadn’t decided to tough it out. shooting a warm thank you and a smile to the driver divinity slid out of the vehicle, standing to wait for zac to come to her side. excitedly she beamed up at him, arms flailing out to motion to the different attractions. ❝ this looks so fun, where did you wanna go first? ❞
As he stepped out of the car, his gaze surveying the Carnival in front of him skeptically though Zacharie was careful not to let that show in his expression. He didn’t often find himself in the outer boroughs, preferring to keep to Manhattan, and one look at the crowded and cramped sidewalks made him glad that they had opted to take an uber here. He wouldn’t trust his car parked along the street with this many people walking about. He wasn’t quite sure what to think of the carnival just yet. The idea of it didn’t sound like something that he would enjoy, but Divinity was obviously already having fun. So he figured it couldn’t be that bad.
“What did you have in mind?” He didn’t really have any idea of just what to do at the carnival, so he would let Divinity take the lead.
FI: so like i couldn't sleep this morning and i got this thought
FI: and it's been bugging me all day
FI: bear with me but like what if aliens never actually came to earth at all ever and it's just a cruel joke from time travellers from the future just fucking with us because we don't know any better
Zac: then i suppose we are all fools for believing them
Henry: Le Bernardin! I find many people take their dates to lux-looking restaurants simply to impress them regardless of the quality, but in this case the food by and large made up for the company.
Henry: Isn't this why you have a personal assistant, I'm assuming? :')
Zac: my personal assistant has enough on his place just keeping my schedule at the office under control to be quite honest
