MAIN CANON DIVERGENCIES. i write gale as a trans man who is in his early to mid thirties during the events of the game. he's a weaveblessed sorcerer by birth but wizard by training. mystra was involved in gale's life since his childhood; their relationship turned explicitly intimate when gale was a young adult, when mystra was renewed as the goddess of magic and made gale her chosen. the netherese orb affects gale throughout his body; rot is an apt comparison and gale hides some of the visible signs beneath bandages, most notably on his dominant casting hand and arm. after the defeat of the absolute, gale leaves the crown of karsus in the chiontar — as a compromise, mystra doesn't remove the orb from gale's chest but ensures it remains dormant, stopping it from being an immediate threat but leaving gale with the limitations and symptoms it imposes on his body and magic.
