I agree with myself. I stumbled over this on a radio station google music set up for me. It’s just one of those songs. You listen to it over and over and it gets in you a little further each listen. Also, that list isn’t excluding YGTUT, he’s not bad. I just heard this beat and their voices and styles just found each other in my mind.
This song is so tender, sonically and lyrically. And it’s interesting that you can get that with those hard snares. The Kanye influence is strong with those breakdowns. All credit due, he’s come a long way from dragging lifeless bodies through the forest to fornicate with them out of love.

I had no idea they did anything together and now I must find all of it and play it til it reshapes my ear canals.
I wish I could go back to this night. I’ve found myself missing it lately

When I first heard Momma on To Pimp A Butterfly I was in a trance. That beat felt like being a kid again, coasting down the street on my bike, almost no cars and the breeze was nice. I heard it on Anthology for the first time like last year and know what? I actually like it even better as an instrumental. It’s hypnotic. I need a 10 hour loop.
Three years ago today. I love this bit of video. Not sure why.
Because this looks like a Monet painting or an old watercolour anime background come to life?! I was in utter disbelief until it started moving.

I had a short lived Doors phase. I was that guy because it was pretty much entirely based off the greatest hits album. Still, quality music is quality music even if it’s wrapped up in a package designed for the convenience of casual listeners who wouldn’t take the time to check out the deep cuts and thusly miss out on gems. Just sayin.
Nas Take it in Blood
One of the nice things about living a quarter mile from a school is I can distantly hear the marching band practice. Ya lying to everybody if you say marching band drums don’t make you wanna move😤
