The sun this morning with wires and poor air quality

Cardinal flowers with orange jewelweed leaves behind them. If you were looking for hummingbirds, this is proof of life. Nothing else can pollinate wild cardinal flowers. If hummingbirds disappeared so would they.

I took it for granted this pond would always be like this and the countryside would always be this green and full of life. 💚

The Eckville flower fields, the way they were in 2021, a year without drought. Sometimes you would see goldfinches and indigo buntings going from plant to plant, many kinds of butterflies sailing from one bloom to another and hear woodland birds like wood thrushes and scarlet tanagers singing from the woods along the edge, plus bluebirds and others singing from a tree here and there. In this there’s a house wren singing.
