I use ibispaint X for all my layouts ! How I do them is a different story lol 😭😭😭😭😭😭........ It's pretty hard to explain in a tut, BUT I can give u some tips ! 💙💙💙
1. I recommend having a clear vision of what you wanna make.
The reason why I take reqs isn't JUST for the interaction, but so I can get ideas for other layouts/edits !
For example, my most recent layouts were inspired by a specific song and a kinda emo/punk aesthetic. I chose red and black as the main color scheme bc I associate punk rock with those colors (mostly).
Knowing what u wanna do for the theme of ur layout makes it much easier when picking pngs you'd wanna use !
PINTEREST AND TUMBLR ARE GODSENDS WHEN STARTING ON A LAYOUT. Ppl make SOOOO many moodboards and layouts that will help with knowing what you want for ur layouts !
I usually use Pinterest to search for backgrounds and to understand certain aesthetics, while I use Tumblr to look for assets I'd use in my layouts.
Majority of the time, I find all my images on these two sites !
Good things to search for on tumblr (if u need a template for ur banners or pfps) is "____ mask"
For finding pngs, I use @/twstassets for ALL of the twst images u see in my layouts. Meanwhile, the other pngs (like random items) I just look up like "____ png" (replace the underscores with the item ur looking for. If ur having trouble finding the exact item ur looking for, go on pinterest and search up the same thing there.)
For my banners I usually search up "banner mask" or "header mask"
And for pfps I search up "pfp mask"
"Mask" just means they're blank pngs for u to use for ur layouts. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SOME POSTERS WILL NEED CREDIT IF U USE THEIR PNGS OR MASKS !!! I personally like to find posters who don't need to be credited so I don't have to list all the posters in every single post they're in 😭😭 I'm sorry I just don't wanna type allat out every time I post 😭😭😭😭😭😭
3. Editing is a LOT of trial and error 😔
When I make my layouts, even if I have a clear vision of what I wanna do, it still takes a lotta time to make a result I'm confident in. For me, my process is just a lot of putting filters on things, moving things around, using all sorts of different assets, and on and on it goes until I like the result 😭😭😭😭😭

Ofc, everyone's thought process is different, but ig I'm just trying to say to take it slow.
BONUS!!! To make the assets in my layouts be a certain color, I clip colors onto them and change their "blending mode".
Each blending mode can drastically change what the color looks like on each asset, so it takes a lil time to know which mode works best for each individual asset.
