“Are you headed out now?”

“Nah.” Connor shook his head. “Not if I can help it. I, er, was working at Shutterbutton’s over the summer. The picture place, over in Diagon.”

“Oh! That’s really cool! So do you want to do that then?”

He held up his hand, showing that he was fine as he tried to return to his feet, “Really? Then what is it? The man in the striped shirt should be carding someone right now, right?”

“Who would he card? You for tripping over the air?” she giggled.

“I still don’t get this,” Scorpius looked despondently at the football and towards his feet, “you sort of- kick it in this direction and then-”

He missed the ball completely and fell, “And then red card.”

“Oh!” Olivia exclaimed in surprise. “No, I don’t think that’s it exactly,” she couldn’t help but giggle as she held her hand out to help him up.

“S’really interestin’. Promise. Er– well, once we met the Headless Hunt. It was bloody awesome. They’re very talkative, yeh know. Always blabberin’.”

“Fair, yeah. I reckon that’s a good mentality to have.”

“Really? That’s so cool! I would love to meet the Headless Hunt, I bet they’re a blast.”

“Mmmmmmm. I don’t know. I don’t know!”

“Okay. Okay okay okay. I’m gonna go over there. But you have to come with me, you have to hold my hand.” { Ophelia grabs at Olivia’s left hand with both of hers, looks at Olivia’s face, scrunches her nose up, and presses her forehead into the bundle of hands. She pulls her head back up, exhales quickly, and turns to face the table. }

“Oh, go on!” Olivia encouraged. She giggled as she was dragged towards the Quidditch table, glad that her words had convinced Ophelia to go over. As the girl turned to the table, Olivia gave her hand a reassuring squeeze.

“’Course it is. Like anything could take my love of charms,” Connor said optimistically. “Still not any better at it, but I like the hard work.”

Oliva smiled. She had always liked how Connor was always up for a challenge. “That’s good,” she nodded. “Do you think you might like to go into charms when you graduate?”

“Loads, actually. They’ve got a pretty extensive history. Like, s’mental. But I reckon there’s loads of ghost over all of history so there’s loads of studies and information. { He chuckles. } I remember that feelin’. Fifth year is a quick turn around. S’like, all of a sudden, yer drownin’ in work. “

“Really? Is it interesting? I imagine ghouls could have at least a few interesting facts about them. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned so far?”

“Yeah, it’s definitely tough. I had no idea it would be this hard, but I don’t want to give up or anything, you know?”

“Oh. That’s too bad. I wasn’t even really sure what to do at it. There was so much going on and I had no idea where to start.”

“Yeah, I guess,” she laughed again. “Is your favourite class still the same, or has it changed?” she asked, curious how much she knew about him was still valid.

“I do too. I think it could be a really big thing, maybe, but I don’t want to jinx it.”

“Is there that much to learn about in Ghoul Studies? Either way, I know how you feel. Fifth year is harder than I ever expected.”
