After class
Liam walked up to the two girls. “Hello.” Liam smiled as he watched them.
Olivia returned his smile. “Hi, Liam,” she said easily. “How were your classes?”
After class
“Thanks” Allison said smiling gratefully as she took a seat beside her. “Yeah. I didn’t think it would be so popular, I thought the dorms or lacrosse pitch or even the coffee shop would be more popular” She agreed casting a glance at the crowded tables surrounding them before answering the girls question “Yeah, well sort of. I came at the end of the school year last year. I’m Allison by the way”
“Olivia,” she said by way of introducing herself, then realization hit. “Oh! You’re friends with my roommate, Lydia! Sh’e got some pictures of you two up on her bulletin board. I think she was hoping to room with you, but they went and did random pairings. Who’s your roomie?”
After class
Allison stepped out into the courtyard, excited to be finished most of her classes for the day. Her classes had been easy enough as her only troubles had come in the forms of a extremely heavy french textbook and a lack of writing utensils. She surveyed the courtyard realizing most seats were taken by groups of people excitedly chatting before spotting a almost vacant seat from the corner of her eye. She walked over pointing to the empty seat beside the girl before asking “Is this taken?”
Hearing someone speak, Olivia looked up and popped out her earbuds. “Please, have a seat,” she said, gesturing to the open space. “This seems a popular area as classes let out, huh?” She was surprised the other girl hadn’t joined one of the groups forming, but then a thought struck her. “Are you new too?”
Confusion
“Yeah.” Liam said as he began to climb the steps and into Luna Plena. He saw the room assignment board. He looked for his name. “Room 116, I think that’s what it says. Whoever wrote this has poor penmanship.” Liam said as he squinted to see what the board said.
“Yeah, you’d think they would have typed the list up instead of going old school with a pen,” she said with a grin.
Confusion
“Nice, it’s nice to meet you Olivia.” Liam said. “My Alpha is also a sophomore. His name is Scott, Scott McCall.” Liam said. He looked down. “He wasn’t able to come this year though. Not enough money.” Liam said kicking a pebble he had seen in the middle of the sidewalk.
“Alpha?” Olivia asked curiously. She was aware of werewolves, but didn’t know what ties they had to the area. Plus, one never could be too careful revealing their knowledge.
Confusion
“I’m only a freshman.” Liam said heading towards the dorm.
“Pretty sure the Freshmen rooms are on the first floor. I’m Olivia, Sophomore. My room’s up on the 3rd.”
Confusion
Liam nodded slightly. “A little. I’m supposed to be in the Luna Plena dorm but they haven’t said what room. Also I don’t know where that is exactly. I’m a transfer.” Liam said.
Olivia nodded. “They might have something on the bulletin board in the lobby,” she said, pointing toward their dorm. “What year are you in?”
Confusion
Liam was walking around the campus. He had just been dropped off by his stepfather and mother at the school. He hadn’t been assigned a dorm room yet so he had to wait. The longer he waited the more annoyed he got.
Needing some fresh air, Olivia had changed into her running clothes and had taken a leisurely jog around campus. As she neared the dorms again, she saw a boy who looked lost. “Hey,” she called out, turning toward him. “You lost?”
After class
All her classes had gone pretty well on the first day, though the rumors about her chemistry teacher, Harris, were true. He was a grade A jerk. Still, she was free now, only an indepentent study on her schedule, so she had some free time and decided to sit outside to read.

The Arrival
When Olivia began to speak about her parents, Lydia quickly realized that this discussion was getting dark. If only she could tell Olivia what happened to her on the lacrosse field, too soon, she thought and decided to keep it to herself. “I’m sorry about all of that.” Lydia said genuinely, offering a smile to comfort Olivia for just a brief moment. “I heard there’s this movie thing tonight, if you want to go with me.” Lydia flipped through an issue of Cosmo and began smirking as she scanned over an article. Lydia was very judgmental towards girls in the past, but Allison had opened her eyes to a new world, where girls were actually pretty great.
Glad for the change of topic, Olivia nodded. “Yeah, I heard about the movie thing too. Sounds fun,” she agreed, hopping up and looking around the room. Among Lydia’s things, she could see a mini fridge/microwave combo and a flat screen TV. There might have been a coffee maker in one of the boxes, but she offered, “I brought a Keurig and an electric tea kettle. I love my coffee.”
The Arrival
“Local. Yes. You spent, I’m sorry, more than one day in a car?” Lydia was appalled at the thought herself, but chalked Olivia up to being less finicky than her. “You poor thing. Sit down, honestly, just relax.” Lydia motioned for the girl to take a seat on Lydia’s bed and pulled some magazines from out of one of the nearby boxes. She placed them all between them, inviting Olivia to browse through one if she was interested. “Why on Earth are you here?” She asked, realizing that it sounded a bit blunt afterwards. “I mean at this school, not here in this dorm room, with me. Is this school really supposed to be that great?”
Olivia let Lydia pull her onto the bed and looked at the magazines, picking up a copy of Elle. “Yeah, I like camping, so I just crashed at rest stops and such,” she told her. “I just...needed a change, you know? My, uh...my parents passed away and there was just too much sadness back home...but enough of that. I came here for a fresh start. Tell me about Beacon Hills.” She was still trying to figure out exactly why she had been drawn here and she didn’t think that was the sort of thing her new roommate needed to know.
The Arrival
Lydia nearly jumped when her new roommate arrived, she knew that someone would be coming eventually, but she got caught up in her daydreams. “Hi Olivia, you guessed correctly.” The girl stood up from her bed and extended her hand, and quickly offered to help Olivia with her boxes. “I mean, I’m not much for heavy lifting, but I could try.” She stated, looking the girl up and down casually. She noticed that the girl’s style was closer to that of Allison’s than hers. “I have to apologize, I barely slept last night. I’m usually way more… alive.” Lydia was telling the truth, but it could also be that she was off center ever since her random attack not too long ago.
“Oh, don’t worry about it,” Olivia replied with a smile, piling up boxes beside her bed. “I could use the exercise after being stuck in the car for the last few days. Drove out here from Massachusetts. You more local?” It seemed like all of Lydia’s things had to be in the room already and Olivia could see the corner of a pretty comforter sticking out from a box. Her own style was more eclectic, but she could appreciate her roommates good taste.
Move in day style
The Arrival
Lydia wanted almost nothing to do with this new school, yet here she was, sent by her parents who couldn’t care less about her and just wanted her out of the house. The classy-dressed girl made her way into her dorm while the movers her parents hired took care of her belongings. It seemed that she would be roomed with Olivia Navarro, a girl she had never met before, and much to her disliking, wasn’t her best friend Allison Argent. Never the less, she decided to wear a smile and hope for the best, as she waited on her bed that had yet to be decorated with it’s blankets and pillows.
After checking in at the main office, Olivia made her way over to Luna Plena Hall, towing a dolly stacked with bags and boxes behind her. There was the expected wait at the elevator, but soon she was on the third floor and on her way to 319. Entering the room, she saw a redheaded girl sitting on one of the beds, stacks of boxes surrounding her. “Hi,” she greeted the girl, surprised that her roommate had beat her here. “You must be Lydia. I’m Olivia. Nice to meet you.”
The Arrival
After several days in the car, driving across country, Olivia was relived to finally arrive in Beacon Hills. Parking in the student lot, she got out and stretched before looking around. For the past several months, she had been feeling a pull, something drawing her here. Without anything keeping her in Salem, she saw no reason not to follow her impulse. Now she was hear and ready to discover what it was about Beacon Hills.
