30 Things I Will Tell My Child:
1. Do not let anyone tell you that you are not beautiful, do not let anyone make you doubt the stars that your eyes are made of.
2. Tell your best friend as much as you would tell your worst enemy. The reason for this is that sometimes the ones who are closest to you will run out of paint and won’t have a second thought about using your blood instead.
3. If you say no to a person and they do it anyway, hit them. When you get home I will turn on your favorite tv show and make you your favorite food.
3. Becoming obsessed with how you look is unhealthy, becoming obsessed with how you feel is healthy.
4. It does not matter if the number on the scale is high, weight is just the earth’s gravitational pull on you and in that moment the earth was just being extra sure that you wouldn’t slip and fall into space.
5. People lie-

7. Never be afraid of anyone.
8. Scare people, burn so bright that people fear of going blind if they set you on fire.
9. Never harm your body in an attempt to feel something. You will leave blood stains on your favorite clothes and I will become curious as to why you started doing your own laundry.
10. There is nothing in the world you could do that could ever cut you off from my love.
11. Crying is okay, being sad is okay, screaming at the stars and using the carpet as a rag for your tears, that is okay. Taking time for yourself is okay. do not put yourself last.
12. Never settle for being a second option, it is not worth wasting your time on people who do not see your worth right when they look into your eyes.
13. Stars have the most lovely voices.
14. Saying hello to someone can save their life.
15. Remember that you only see the world through one perspective if you stay in the same place. Travel, learn to think differently of things.
16. If there is a night that you are crying at 2am and you feel alone in the world, wake me and I will make tea and we will open all the windows and stare at the stars and you will realize that you are never alone as long as you have yourself.
17. Never feel guilty for wanting something to happen,
never feel guilty for not wanting something to happen.
18. Wear red lipstick when you want, accompanied by a nice pair of high heels to turn heads with each clicking step and every strawberry smile.
19. Go out in your pajamas. Go out in shorts and a cut off shirt. Do not let people’s opinions stop you from dressing comfortable.
20. If you do not get butterflies from a touch, do not wish for a kiss.
21. Wait as long as you can for your first time, because if the person leaves, you will feel more broken than anything else in the world.
22. It is not the people who call you at 3:00am crying about another person that matter, it is the people who answer your call at 3:00am when they know you’re crying about a person other than themselves that matter.

24. Never feel so unlovable that you give all your love away and leave none for yourself.
25. The only time you should be facing the toilet bowl is when you get food poisoning from a date the night before.
26. Forgetting is a side effect of drinking, only drink with those that will let you forget what you are hoping to.
27. Do not drink around those who you will be trying to forget later on.
28. Sometimes the only thing you’ll be able to do is get out of bed. That is okay.
29. Stir fry some vegetables with soy sauce and rice, invite a friend over and laugh together while sitting and eating on the kitchen floor. Your body will feel lovely and it will be something you’ll never forget and something you’ll always do with that friend.
30. There will be a day where you will see things on my skin and you will ask me about them and I will cry. Please, always think about what your response would be if your child asked you about what you are about to do.
