Rick couldn't believe it. Just where his friend was once standing was a pair of brand new flip flops. He was told that he would soon develop TF powers to change people into objects by his dad, but he didn't believe it was really true.
Henry found himself unable to move or speak. His body didn't feel right either. He felt split in two and a little more flat than before. His point of view was disconcerting. His close friend Rick looked like a giant compared to him. "What happened to me, Rick? Can you hear me?!" Yet no words were vocalized. It was only his thoughts and nothing more.
"Dude, I am so sorry. I thought my dad was lying about our family having the power to TF people into objects. I thought of turning you into a comfortable pair of flip flops." Rick paused, still in shock at what he had done. "And you literally became flip flops. I wlll talk to my dad to see how to reverse it." He paused again. He didn't know what to do about Henry being footwear. He thought at least trying him on won't be too bad since he looks like flip flops.
"Noooooo! Don't you dare wear me, dude!" Henry mentally screamed as he saw Rick's massive feet move towards him. "Stop it now!" He continued to mentally scream
Rick put one on and then the other. The flip flops felt good under his feet. They were more comfortable than any he previoiusly owned. "Wow, you feel better than normal flip flops, Henry." He paused at first feeling guilty for wearing his friend under his feet. Yet, to anyone else, they would look like normal flip flops. He would be the only one to know the difference. He finished getting dressed and walked back to his car to call his dad. Each step felt so good. He never had flip flops that felt this good to walk on.
Henry was in agony as each step was extremely painful. Even if Rick was standing still it made it worse. The fact that he hated being under his bare feet made it more torture. He could feel the surface beneath him like a stabbing in his back.
Rick called his dad. "Hey dad, I turned my friend into flip flops by accident. You was right. My TF ability kicked in."
"That's great son, about your TF abilities. Just be careful in using them." His dad replied. "Any questions about them?"
"Yeah, how do you change someone back to normal?" Rick asked over the phone.
"Good question. You have to do it within the first three minutes of changing someone into an inanimate object. Just think of what they were before and it happens." His dad instructed him. "But remember, you have to do it before three minutes is up." He reminded him.
"What happens after the three minutes?" Rick asked, hoping it wasn't what he was thinking. It had already been twenty minutes since turning Henry into flip flops.
"Well, they are stuck as that object permanently. Sorry for your friend if it's been after three minutes. But at least you have new footwear to add to your collection." His dad remarked to his question.
"So Henry is stuck as my flip flops forever?" Rick asked to be sure.
"Yup." His dad replied.
"Thanks for the warning. I guess Henry is in my shoe collection now. Thanks dad." Rick hung up the phone call. "Sorry buddy, but I rather treat you as footwear so that I don't feel to bad for what I did. So from now on, you are just flip flops to me." He spoke down to the flip flops under his feet. He vow never to speak to them. That way he doesn't feel guilty.
"Noooooo! This is a nightmare." Henry mentally screamed as Rick pressed the gas pedal to start driving. Being reduced to footwear was bad enough, but to be forgotten as a person and only seen as an object under his feet was even worse. He didn't want to accept that his was his life now, even if there was nothing he could do to change his current fate.
