"Do it again. I dare you,” he challenged, the primal nature of his demon half beginning to flare with the desire to claim dominance. He knew that Kagome wasn’t stupid ー she knew exactly what she was doing. Who was he to deny her in not reciprocating in some form?

A rather smug smirk crossed over Kagome’s face as she reached out to grab a small tub of stationary accessories. Lifting it off the desk, she moved her hand over the floor before rather pointedly releasing it.

Without hesitation, Inuyasha, deceptively calmly, climbed to his feet, “Here lies the brat that thought today was the day and that I was the oneー” His tone was even, keeping the rather calm sense of self, regardless of the fact that all he wanted was to get her down on her knees, begging for forgiveness.

The words had Kagome’s face fall into one of confusion as she took a step backward, “Are youーare you starting my eulogy?”

“Yes. Yes I am.”

Our Swan Song | Chapter One: This Isn’t My Idea

When the king and queen split off towards the king’s study, Inuyasha immediately dropped his arm to fold both of them over his chest. Kagome easily returned the favour, letting her arm down before holding the front of her dress with the same hand.

“You don’t need to come with me, I know where I’m going,” kagome stated after a moment or two, confident that they were out of earshot. 

A small scoff left the prince then, “I’m already gettin’ an earful for not bein’ here to greet you. I’m not riskin’ anymore than that,” he explained, hearing Kagome murmur under her breath.

“How gentlemanly of you.”

Both of them fell into silence then, simply walking side by side until Kagome couldn’t contain herself any longer, “Your father wants to officially announce our merger tonight.”

The prince said nothing, simply keeping up his pace as Kagome did the same, her gaze looking to him as they did, “Did you hear me?” She asked, already knowing the answer was ‘yes’. How many times had he managed to hear her snide comments under her breath due to his enhanced hearing? 

“Why do you think I went hunting this morning?” He suddenly said, his gaze glancing towards Kagome’s for a moment before he looked ahead immediately after.

“So he told you,” Kagome replied, seeing the prince give a small nod. Kagome looked ahead as well, finding herfself slightly disappointed by the fact that Inuyasha had seemed that upset by the news. 

Was it truly that awful to him? To know that he would be marrying her?

Yes, it was completely hypocritical of her to think in such a way, as Kagome hadn’t really thought of it to be the best scenario to be marrying him, either. And yet, she couldn’t help but feel hurt. 

When they reached the princess’ chambers, Inuyasha opened the door for her and allowed her to step inside before following in after her. Kagome peered over her shoulder before turning to face him completely, a look etched into her features that Inuyasha hadn’t ever really seen before – disappointment. 

He’d known that Kagome and himself didn’t exactly get along, having always picked on one another during their childhood years. You know, the typical things children did when they didn’t know better. Inuyasha surely wasn’t the nicest to Kagome but she hadn’t exactly won any awards for keeping her temper either. 

Inuyasha didn’t think it was that much of a death sentence to be married to him.

Hey I was re-reading Hit The Like Button and was wondering if you ever thought of writing a one shot in that universe of Kagome getting punished for pranking Inuyasha on tiktok or doing for example the silhouette challenge?

not necessarily for a tiktok but i do have a one shot i was writing where he punishes her with vibrating panties. 😈 i should finish that at some point hahahah

awww thank you <3 i honestly haven't been a part of the fandom for a bit now due to music being my main motivation rn. but i truly miss writing and might even start thinking about writing an OG book, but idk if ppl would be interested.
