Royalty Lessons -- Or Something Like That [Austin & Elias]
Austin had spent almost a full hour arguing with his faerie guardians. Now that he knew he was royalty there were expectations of him, and since he'd lived in a little cabin in the woods for almost all his life he was little under prepared. "You need to talk to other royalty and learn the ropes, Austin." One of them told him as he leaned against the wall, another scribbling something on a piece of paper but Austin didn't even dare ask. He'd learned that often, when he asked questions of them, he didn't like the answer. "It's not like I'm hopping into the throne right now! Don't I have to marry Pippa first anyways?" He huffed in irritated reply; he would just walk out, if he knew they'd let him. "But you need to be ready for that, and don't you want to impress Princess Philipa the next time you see her?"
They knew exactly what to say to him to get him to do what they wanted, and with a sigh he caved. "Okay, what do I need to do?" The one who'd been furiously scribbling on a piece of paper shoved the thing in his face, and he stared down at a list of names; King Elias, Princess Navi, Prince Bambi, Prince Eoin, Queen Jaq, Princess Erica, Princess Pricilla, and Princess Francesca. He held the piece of paper up with a questioning look. "What's this?" He quizzed, earning a chuckle from the three of them.
"Pick one. Or multiple. They're all royalty, or near it, and they know what the proper way to act entails." Austin gave the list another once over, he had heard maybe one or two names before but that was by chance and he certainly couldn't put a face or kingdom to any of them. He figured a king was probably his best bet so he set his mind on King Elias for now, and got his information from his faeries before heading out to find him. Once he made it to the address he was given he knocked lightly on the door, sighing to himself. "Okay Austin. This is for Pippa. For Pippa." He mumbled to himself.
To someone who'll find me, and bring back a love song to me
There’s such a lovely guesthouse down the way there, the woman who runs it is a darling.
Well I mean, if you say it's lovely, it must be. I'll certainly have to check it out. Would you, show me where it is maybe?
Yeah so basically I was born here, and then lived somewhere else for all my life, and now I'm back. That's the short version.
"Uh, not far from here. You-you just, keep wa-walking straight and then turn right at the next road." He told him. "Ar-are you new?"
Austin repeated the directions to himself in his head before nodding. "Got it. Thank you, that's very helpful." He smiled before grimacing at the question, he wasn't prepared for it, but he knew it was bound to come. "Sorta. It's a long, complicated story that I don't even understand fully myself."
There’s one or two of them in downtown. Are you new?
Uh. Sorta. New in many ways, and also not in many ways. It's complicated, and I haven't even begun to understand it myself so.
"If you don’t want your ass eaten off by fleas I’d suggest the metropolitan hotel, down the block."
Hotel, got it. Thank you!
Would a hotel work?
Uh, yeah, I suppose that would work. Where's that?
"A place to st-stay? Like a hotel?"
Oh...right, a hotel. Right. Where would that be?
"I do. How nice do you want to stay?"
Well I mean, I'm a...it doesn't matter how nice, a place to stay is a place to stay.
Uh, you wouldn't happen to know where...well where I could find a place to stay would you?
