♕ Event ♚ - .... Die Together
Little has been explained before yet another Bird joins the scene. The tall form of Gosami comes stumbling out of the mirror opposite the one Monoswan had appeared from. He looks terrible, shaken and pale and unfocused, like he’s on the verge of passing out.
“Svana what- Saaras? …WAUNA!” The goose boy screams, tears springing immediately into his eyes as he runs towards Swanami and the fallen Monogoose. “Svana what have you done!? What have you done? This could destroy everything! How could you? How could-” His protestations, which were alternating between righteous anger and profound grief, are cut somewhat predictably short when Monoswan gives him the same treatment as the goose girl before him.
For a moment Gosami is simply frozen in shock, struck silent. And then he chokes, a thin spray of blood escaping his lips. “S-Svana… why…?” He manages to gasp out.
The insane smile has returned in full force, now seeming even crueler as she watches her brother struggle and grieve. She twists the sword, seeming nearly giddy as he chokes on his own blood.
“Because I hate you, with every fiber of my being. I hate all of you.”
Gosami stumbles back, the sword sliding out of him with a sickening slick noise. He places one hand over the wound, blood streaming between his fingers, betrayal on his face. He turns half towards Swanami, stretches out his hand as if reaching for him… and collapses.
Monoswan laughs. Not a cackle, not a hysterical cacophony of noise, but a low chuckle. Like she actually, genuinely finds the entire situation funny. Coated in the blood of her siblings, she casually strolls over to Swanami, unnatural smile still fixed on her face.
“Aren’t you lucky, brother? I needed to keep at least one of you around, and I just so happened to despise you the least.” She laughs again, this time even quieter, almost under her breath.
“Lucky?! You’re a monster, Svana! I-I’m going to put a stop to this once and for-” As Swanami pulls himself to his feet he immediately falls back down on his knees, arms and legs quivering violently. He’s still able to hold his head high and glare at Monoswan. “You’ll pay for this. Mark my words.”
“Except that I won’t, dear brother.” She coos, mockingly, somehow sneering in his direction without that uncanny smile ever once wavering. “Because the beauty of this arrangement is that you are every bit as incapable of killing me as I am of killing you.” With that last remark, Monoswan finally turns, dripping with fuschia, to all of you.
“There has been a change in management.” She says smoothly, dryly, as if what had just occurred were as routine as a business transaction. She seems to be making an effort to return to her usual emotionlessness, but is not successful— her voice holds a definite cheery note, and a smile still tugs the corners of her mouth upwards. “I am in charge now, completely. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Monoswan. I look forward to the continuation of our game, and its eventual winner.” She bows, formally, and marches out of the throne room, trailing blood behind her.
And now, at last, it is over…
