Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year, aside from fall, and visiting the gardens was something she did every year. “I even saw them before being lit up and I can’t believe how beautiful they are.”

They really are pretty. I love Christmas, don’t you? It’s one of my favorite holidays. 

The lights are my favorite part, I think. Everything looks so gorgeous at night when you add a little lights.

Well I tearch lingusitics–sort of the asthetics and qualities regarding languages and spoken words.  The human voice is the most unifying of all the instruments, no?  Everyone in the word has a voice to be heard, its just a matter of understanding how they play their given instrument.

So what does my voice tell you? That’s really interesting. I study healing - almost like a nurse of sorts I suppose. I really love helping people, so I would love to do that in the future when I’m done with school. 

I really hope the scotch and vodka mixes okay, I forgot you started off with a scotch. But yes, I would like to dance with you, though I think after a dance or two we should try to meet some new people, since we’re both new. Perhaps we will run into our hostess for the evening! I heard she’s gorgeous, I’d really love to meet her.

A Shirley Temple with vodka?!  I have two PHds and Im not even that smart to think of that little concoction!  I loved Shirley Temples growing up, but I think my days at University and all the nights studying in backally pubs sort have extinguished my taste for them…You know what? I’m going to make it two Shirleys with Vodka hows that Ms Borealis?

I have no doubt that your class is probably somewhat entertaining, though I’m a little lost on what you do teach, exactly. But you sound very smart, so that is always a good thing for a professor. 

I’m glad, I think you’ll like it! I love Shirley Temples. They’re one of my favorite drinks. I take no responsibility for your reaction to alcohol, though. Or mine, for that matter - I might even enjoy a dance or two. There’s a lot of people here...

Right now it’s scotch–but alcohol usually gets the better of me and sometimes I act foolish with it.  So I generally like to take it slow, but since its Christmas and everything, I’d figured why not delve into a little temptation, right?

I don’t usually drink but seeing as that it’s Christmas and I really love Christmas, I think I’ll have a...shirley temple with vodka? It sounds a little weird but it’s one of my favorite drinks! I hope noone makes fun of me. 

Thank you for saying that. I love the aurora borealis! Nobody gets my joke when I mention it, but no, my parents named me Aurora because they “thought it was beautiful”. I think one of my aunts mentioned it, honestly. I’ve grown to love it. I actually go to school nearby - but not the school you work at. Do you teach?

Oh! Well its quite appropriate that you say that because I’m new here as well.  And considering I’ve been standing next to the bar the whole night…drinking the same drink I ordered.  Maybe it’s time for another…I can get you one if you like?

Oh, thank you! That’s so nice of you to say - my parents are just so specific and high-strung sometimes. But I think this will do just fine.

People are always dressing up like Santa Claus around Christmas time. It’s not that bad. I think it’s kind of sweet. Though it must be confusing for kids, but it’s still nice. 

As long as they aren’t grump Santa’s, you know? What’s got you so down this season?

Now all I need is an “appropriate” gown for Christmas Day...that my parents will approve of.
