Our Sun, the Great King, King of the Land of Hatti, the Labarna, the Hero is dead. The sea has risen up and the land burns, the Gods are silent amidst their looted temples, and nothing will ever be the same again.
Kingdom of the New Sun is a collaborative storytelling game for however many people you can stand in one place.
You are a group of priests escaping the Hittite Empire's destruction during the Bronze Age Collapse, who collect stories along the way from deserting soldiers, despondent farmers, delusional nobles and much more to create a new mythic cycle to present to the Last Royal Court in the Universe at the end of your journey, and thus determine what if any of our past is worth carrying forward into the future.
All with the help of the Redactor, a player tasked with composing and running the individual Songs and Verses the Priests will be regaled with and challenged by, and compiling and editing their scattered notes at the end of each session/song into something resembling a complete story to add to the cycle.
It's a game about being a lot of people, figuring out what makes them tick, and flattening them down into inspiration or otherwise reinterpreting them for your own purposes anyway.
