ive known a girl for 2 years, recently i confessed and she likes me back but i dont know that much about her. i know SOME stuff but f.e. dont know what she looks like 100% or what her age is, i know its around mine but when i ask her questions she dodges them, when i ask why she says she doesnt care about stuff like that? she knows a lot about me, it bothers me and makes me think she doesn't trust me:(and lately shes been ghosting me saying she doesnt feel like talking to anyone, what do i do?:(

Truthfully, I think you should let her know it’s for your safety to know her age and what she looks like, especially if the two of you really like each other. I know you said she’s around your age but are you sure about that? Like 100% sure? Things like this makes me worried if people aren’t going to be honest. I’ve had a few run ins where people have lied to me about their age or won’t tell me. Which would make me suspicious truth be told.

I would say for the time being, give her space and when she’s ready to talk, have this serious conversation. Let her know that you need to know for your safety her age. If the two of you are going to have a relationship you need to trust each other and be open. If she doesn’t comply, despite all the attempts you’ve made, than I would say it’s not worth it to keep at it. It will only hurt you over time. (I hope that doesn’t sound rude!)

There was one last thing I wanted to say on my last reply that I should of added but didn’t think of it at the time. Feelings are a silly thing, so don’t feel bad about feeling the way you do about the other person. It happens to a lot of people, but it also comes and goes. As you don’t act on them it should be fine. It’ll go away with time, trust me. I’ve been there before.

I’ve developed strong feelings for my boyfriend’s older brother. I resent myself for these feelings, but I can’t get him off my mind. We get along very well and he’s begun acting more flirtatious towards me. I would and could never act on my feelings, nor do I want to. I love my boyfriend and want to have a relationship with him. I’m scared because I feel my boyfriend’s parents are beginning to notice things. I don’t want to cause trouble within the family nor do I want to lose my boyfriend.

Hi! I’m not sure if I can really help on this topic since it’s not really related to online stuff but I will do the best I can. (Unless this is happening online then??? I’m not sure haha apologies) I know this might be a little painful, but it may be best to try to distant yourself from your boyfriend’s brother? Like put your foot down and such about the flirting. Because if you let it continue, it will only get worse from there and all it will be doing is worsening the wounds if that make sense. People will find out and it may cause, well, a lot of drama between everyone.

I’m not saying you can’t be friends with him, you totally can continue on the friendship! But if the flirting persist, it’s not going to be a good look on anyone. Especially when your already in a relationship.

But that is the best I could give. Just putting your foot down to turn down the flirting and even distancing yourself for a bit from him. Doesn’t have to be for a long time, but for the time being to avoid things for a bit and give you some time to think about the situation.

Hi! How would you go about dating someone who is literally across the world? He’s from Oceania and i’m from europe, its kind of worrying to me..

Longer distant relationship are definitely the hardest. My friend G lives in Europe and her lover is all the way in the United States so the long gap between the two is definitely hard.

However! Don’t give up hope! These two have been together for as long as I have been with Mod Nate and they are still going strong! I believe you can do it, the both of you! I know it’s going to be painful being so far from each other, but all it takes is patient, love, ect.

One day one of you will save up enough money to see each other, and then at some point even getting to the point of living together if the two of you work hard in the relationship and move forward slowly!

Hey I've been dating this person for almost two years now but we both get really nervous and awkward when we call each other so do you have any suggestions on how we can get more comfortable talking to each other when we call and video chat?

Oooh I know how this feels alright haha. Yeah I have some suggestions!

1.) Have you ever played the question game? My s/o and I used to play it when things go kinda silent or awkward haha. It’s basically like

Person A: *Ask a question*Person B: *Answers and explains why thats their answer*Person B: *Ask back a question*Person A: *Does the same as Person B did before and answers/explains why thats their answer.*And then so forth! Sometimes it’s a very good conversation starter in calls! I know it may seem weird but it really does help sometimes :02.) Another is just simply asking “Hey hows your day, what are you up to, ect” sorta basic simple stuff really haha. Sometimes those can gradually turn into conversations!

3.) If you both play video games online, I recommend playing multiplayer games together! It really helps with talking to each other because communication in games are definitely really important when trying to figure out what to do in it. I mean yes there is options to type in game but I seriously do say play them in calls! It’s soo much easier!

4.) Sometimes having another person also can help in calls! People who are either friends with the both of you or friends you’d like to introduce to the other, a third party is quite helpful due to having more people to socialize with! (Or more if you prefer large groups!) And another thing is, after awhile you’ll start becoming more and more comfortable with your s/o in calls so then ya’ll can move onto single calls with each other because you’ve gotten used to them around other people! 5.) Sometimes it also takes time to get used to each other in calls. All I can really say, just be yourself! Sometimes there will moment where you embarrass yourself, I know that first hand, but it’ll gradually get better over time and you could even laugh off those embarrassing times!

6.) For video calls, you can always start it out by sending silly pictures of yourselves to each other till you’ve both gotten more and more comfortable and willing to video call!

But of course, trust me! It’ll take some time but it’ll be worth it in the end!

Alright so, I hate to come here for like the 6th time but I'm kind of at a loss here. I was able to go to my boyfriend's house (across the country) for around a week and it was great. Everything went well, his family likes me, it was fun. His mom offered to fly him out here this time for his birthday (in February) which is also great. The problem is I haven't told my mom about the relationship. I've been trying to for the last week or so but I can't bring myself to do it. I don't know why. Help?

Oh gosh don’t worry about it! I was once like you in this position (minus the flying part.) I just worked up the courage and tell my mom because my significant other’s family found out about me (and that was a mess in its own) so I felt it was only right to tell my mom about the secret relationship. It went well. Basically my mom just told “lmao thats cool glad you found someone!” that was it. Really.But for your situation, it is definitely a lot more different. Honestly, I feel like you should just sit her down with you and manage the courage to talk about it. Your this far into the relationship and I feel it is time to tell her. If things go wrong well, they go wrong. However, your happiness matters so if it does go wrong just keep going. It shouldn’t stop you from your relationship or seeing them!

I think the best thing you should do before sitting her down to talk is go over in your head a couple of times what you wanna say. Look yourself in the mirror and talk to yourself as if your about to talk to your mom. Take in deep breaths. It’ll definitely be a bit of a stressful situation but I believe you can do it and no matter what happens, keep going with your relationship!

hey! sorry if this is a bother, but i’m meeting my boyfriend for the first time when i turn 18 (im 17 now.) i don’t have a job, and i want to propose when we meet, however, with all the costs of the rings and plane tickets i’m just wondering if i should propose on christmas day without a ring and just send him a few ring pops! do you have any advice for proposing in a ldr? Well the thing is I’ve never been proposed to nor ever proposed to my significant other before ;;

Though in terms of proposing (and this is just my thought!) I’d wait to see if things between the two of you will go well in IRL first before proposing! Like since this is your first time meeting them in person, if it was me I’d wait to see if things go well first and all is comfortable before I’d propose! You know, to see if things will work out in IRL.

The only reason why I bring that up is become sometimes your ldr might be going super well on online but in irl it might be different or sometimes maybe not something you were really expecting to be.

But hey its not like that for everyone of course! I’m sure with the idea of sending them a bunch of ring pops to propose instead of a real ring on Christmas can show that you’ve put a lot of effort in it! Plus I mean on Christmas with ring pops while proposing will be a hard day to forget! I’m sure they would understand the money problem you’ll be having and maybe when things get better a stuff and you have a job and start saving, you can afford actual rings for the two of you! Only if thats what you want haha!

So I'm going to go see my boyfriend in person for the first time in a couple months. Do you have any advice? I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing but excited at the same time.

When it comes to any trip, especially one far away from home, you will want to make sure you're prepared for the worst - not because it will happen, but because nobody wants to be in a tough situation without some way of making it out safely. Before you go on the trip, make sure that you bring all of your essentials with you (clothes, phone, wallet, etc.) and that you know where you will be staying for the duration of the trip if it's not just a brief visit. You will want to have some cash on you for the trip since it is almost universally accepted to buy what you need/want; the amount you carry is up to your discretion, though keep in mind this is also the money you might need if you're in a pinch! However, just because you're preparing for anything doesn't mean you can't have fun! Enjoy your time with your boyfriend and make sure you both do the things you like together, knowing that your preparation will get you out of a bind. So I thinks that my family says that our relationship isn't gonna go through. My gf and I have been together we're gonna be 4 months now soon. We said to eachother we both wanna make it work and we talk about how we plan to get to eachother and stuff. This is one of those things again you gotta take slow. Honestly you don’t wanna move so fast and wait awhile to see if it really does work out. Though if your both confident in seeing each other then go for it! Bring it up to your mom rather slow though. Have your mom meet your girlfriend first (through calling or texting or whatever is comfortable!) and have her get to know her so she can feel like she can trust your girlfriend.

Also I was 12 and he was 13 when we started dating! Very young age. I’m 19 now and he’s 20.

Hmm well first you gotta take it slow you know? I think you should start with talking to her and asking her if shes comfortable with doing anything sexual. Her answer will tell you whether shes okay with it or not and then you’ll know your boundaries. If she is okay with it, proceed to ask her what shes okay/comfortable with. Like what are the dos/don’ts if the two of you plan to do anything sexual! Also don’t forget to tell her what your comfortable/uncomfortable with as well!This is one of those things where its kinda important to talk about especially if one or both of you are interested in doing sexual things because you need to know what your partners feels upon it? So how do you suggest I go about talking to someone about setting up a trip to visit someone in another state? Or even mentioning I have a boyfriend that lives on the other side of the country to someone like my mother?

Ooo hmmm well, for myself it was rather easy to tell my own mom? I just sorta brought it up to her and she was okay with it. I told her everything I knew about my s/o so she wasn’t too suspicious? As long as I was careful/happy she was fine.I believe maybe you should take things slowly at first? Plan out in your head on how you will tell them? They gotta know sooner or later since you can’t keep a relationship secret for too long but please do take your time! You just wanna hope they will be understanding. I can understand how protective parents when it comes to online dating. When my s/o parents found out about me, they were the protective type about it and so when they wanted to make sure that I wasn’t some creep or whatever, we had planned a call together. We talked, crack some jokes, I was suppose to tell a lot about myself, you know that sort of thing. That really worked well and it got comfortable in terms of whenever his mom went to talk to him in his room, if he was in a call with me she would say hello or ask about my day and stuff.You want to be able to earn the trust with each others parents you know? Especially if your planning a trip? I’d also say wait a bit in the relationship after a long while (kinda like the relationship I have now). You can do whatever you want though but you don’t wanna rush things ya know? Make sure you save up a lot and everything! When buying a ticket, order it months earlier when its the cheapest!

It takes a lot of planning when it comes to seeing a s/o. And hopefully when you tell your mom about the other, she can help set you up for such a big trip.Though I can’t exactly say what your mother will do upon finding out/taking a trip since, everyone is different but as I said take it slow and when you tell your mom about it, set up some kind of meeting (Like a webcam or a call meeting or just plain text each other) with your mom and s/o so your mom can get to know them better besides your own words!
