Scars - Wednesday 100 Drabble
Everyone has scars, but some, like her husband, have more than most. Visible and invisible, the scars of their time together and apart mar their bodies and minds—hers internal and incapacitated; his external and exploited. Ripped but never severed, they have sewed themselves back together before. They’ll do it again. She prefers when the stitching is procedural than what she has to do now—what Jamie’s back was forced to do unassisted. Little by little, using his love as a balm to soothe the ache, she stitches herself back together, until her psyche matches the pattern on his skin.
