Nuclear-level robotfucker sees Zero for the first time: 5,000 dead, 20,000 injured
"I'll just make a cute kenhaji sticker to put in my toku sketchbook, this'll be fast-" 19 hours later:
I put an absurd amount of effort into rendering every single thing, and there were a LOT of panicked moments and fears during the process, but I'll suffer through it all for the two freaks who changed my life forever
I was laying out some notes about this week's episode, and the more I write about it, the more I think that something Very Bad is going to happen to Baku (and by extension, Baku and Nem's relationship). I watched episodes 17 and 18 back-to-back, and when put together, they have something REALLY interesting going on
In episode 17, Baku was hyperfixated on rescuing Nem and that remaining as his big role to the point where he felt off about it. When the nurse told Baku and Minami the truth about Nem’s disappearance, Minami was the one to comfort the nurse about it, and more specifically, held Baku back with her arm. It’s like she knew he was getting worked up about it, and it was evident in his tense body language and tone. Nem’s fate is something CRITICAL to him, and by extension, Baku seems to be holding back from others in general. When Minami tried to ask him if he was alright before he went to save Nem, he just smiled and brushed it off.
There’s an interesting emphasis on HIM being the one to save everyone: “If someone has a dream that puts you in danger, I’ll save you every time.” “Assuming I can keep [the students] all safe.” “I’ll protect all of you.” It’s something that Nem and the Death Game Nightmare even feed into as well: "But can you protect ALL of them?" "Don't worry. I know he'll save her," with Baku not having been brought up to Nem at all before she said that last one. And I know that this is a superhero show, so saving people is going to naturally be brought up, but I feel like there’s a noticeable pattern here. I get the feeling that Baku’s going to be placing a LOT of the burden on himself to get the job done all on his own. Especially since instead of Zero guiding him (who was very much NOT healthy, but he was approachable), there’s Three, who’s clearly not as accommodating and used physical violence during his and Baku’s first meeting
It feels like the show's laying down the groundwork to have Baku start to overwork himself and get heavily fixated on doing EVERYTHING himself. And it's something that Three can foster further if he remains cold and hostile towards Baku. Not to mention how now that The Lady has a direct connection to Baku through posing as a concerned counsellor, she can continue to perpetuate the problem through fucking with his mind and furthering that isolated feeling (plus, considering she outright used Nem as bait already, she could very well do it again if she thinks it could assist in "breaking" Baku)
I can't even say what I think The Bad Thing between Baku and Nem could be, I just get the sense that something's being set-up here
Throwing this out into the wind before the new episode comes out and completely disproves it, but I've been thinking about Nox being confirmed as agent 4 and Baku currently being agent number 7 and had a thought
What if Baku ends up becoming disillusioned with Zero and CODE's practices the longer he works with them, and recognizing this, Zero cuts him off or tries to dispose of him in the same way he hypothetically did with Nox and the other 5 unnamed agents. Or something happens of that caliber
So what if the rumored third rider of the show is the new person Zero brings in to replace Baku: agent number 8
This motherfucker again
Some of my favourite comments from the live chat during the episode delay
kamen rider zeztz is a dumb show cause why would you bother to get all those capsums to fight nightmares when all you have to do is get zeztz's wonder form inside their assholes, make him grow back to his normal size and that's it the multicolored masochists are dead
Zeztz's dream settings are already so weird and fun, but I personally think they can one-up it by having at least one episode where Baku enters the dreams of an autistic person in the midst of a hyperfixation spiral
Do I even need to caption this
Low (ahahah) effort meme based on this post from @onslaughtaur
Kamen Rider is a fun series because half of the monsters feel like they're just people in their drag personas
Unless you're in Kamen Rider Kuuga where the human forms ARE the drag personas
I just learned that there's no Zeztz episode for this week, so that's another week Baku stays dead as hell
Hello I'm normal
If I had a nickel for every time I was randomly scrolling through tumblr this week and just randomly saw my art I'd have two nickels, which isn't even a weird feeling it's just wild as hell
Big fan of these comments from the scheduled broadcast
Dude Tokushoutsu has GOT to start putting "REPLAY" in front of their replaying Zeztz lives because the number of times I've had a split-second heart attack and had to mentally check if it was Saturday upon seeing the live notification is way too much
I've recently been toying with the idea of making stickers of things I enjoy so I can slap them on everything I own (plus, when you're a fan of things that aren't common to see at conventions you gotta do what you can) and I wanted to make a Halloween-themed one since it's my favourite holiday. Naturally it had to be with some of my favourite traditional monster-themed boys!
