Big News
Our Same Mistakes EP will be released on October 28th at the Freebird Live. We're sad to announce that this will also be Mark and Jun's last show with us. We thank them for the hard work and love that they've put into our music. They've seen this band through from the very beginning and we'll miss them a lot. Mark and Jun, we love you and wish you the best in everything that you do.
NEW SONG: The Bay

Finishing Up
Currently as I type, our mixes are in the hands of West West Side Music Studios in New York. WWSM has worked with names that we listen to and respect including Brand New, Saves the Day, The Wonder Years, Transit, Man Overboard, Bayside, Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes and more. We're excited for our masters to be completed and returned in the next week. Stay posted!
Farewell: Chavis Fulmore
We are sad to announce that Sunday, July 24, 2011 will be Chavis Fulmore's last performance with Dancell. For the past two years he has put more than 110% into the band and he will be missed. Listed below is his departing statement:
In the summer of 2009, I received a phone call from Patrick who asked if I could fill in for a couple of shows Dancell played. I owed him a favor so I agreed to help them out. Before I knew it, I was an official member of Dancell; I was finally in a band that was serious about having a career in the music industry. I did not imagine that, in the following two years, I would meet and befriend so many great individuals, play on the same bill with bands I admired, and even travel to play concerts. I have made so many great memories during my time with Dancell and when I look back on them, I can smile. Although my time with Dancell has come to a stop, my aspirations with music are not finished: my priorities have changed while my dreams and goals have not. In the past couple months, the band decided to venture in a new musical direction and it became clear that it was not a good fit for myself. With opportunities presenting themselves outside of the band, I decided it was best for me to depart. These guys have worked incredibly hard on this EP and I wish them nothing but the best in everything they do. I’d like to thank you, Patrick, for giving me that first call. Thank you, Sherwin, Mark, Justin, and Jun for being radical friends. As this chapter comes to a close, I think it’s time I start writing a new one.
Best wishes,
Chavis Fulmore
To give him some love at his last performance, come to the BAYSIDE/Transit show at Jack Rabbits tomorrow night. (1528 Hendricks Ave) Doors @ 7pm. We are sad to see Chavis leave but we thank him for everything that he's done for us and look forward to playing one last show with him!
Tracking officially ended today and we're so close to the finishing what we've spent the past 5 months working on. These songs have been stuck in our heads for too long and we can't wait to release them. Working for 8 to 10 hours a day working on music is something that has become a normal routine for us for the past week, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Today we tracked vocals and acoustic guitar. Check out these cool pictures!
Today we're tracking vocals for the final song of our new EP. Mixing starts on Thursday and we cannot put into words how stoked we are for these new songs. Mark came in a couple of days ago to record keys and other noises, we were stoked on that too. Check out these cool pictures!
Yesterday was the first day that it didn't rain during our stay in St. Cloud, it was also a big day for Sherwin. We have completely finished instruments as of today, but i'll be uploading pictures from today later on tonight. Sherwin spent hours finding the right tone for each of the songs on guitar and it helps everything come together. We're getting ready to record vocals and we're really close to finishing the E.P.
After our third day in the studio, we have all realized that time flies by when you're determined to create something long overdue. We can comfortably say that working with James is the best decision we have made so far. Today, Sherwin recorded rhythm guitar and lead guitar for two songs leaving two more for him to record tomorrow. Check out these cool pictures!
Today we're recording rhythm guitar and leads. I'll post pictures of the later today, but for the past couple of days at the studio, we focused on bass guitar and drums. We've been clocking in for long days at the studio this past week and we are stoked on how the songs are turning out. Check out these pictures!
In The Studio...
I'll start off by saying that this is the first thing that I've ever written on this website so if anything seems a bit irregular from the average tumblr post, cut me some slack. Yesterday was our first day at the studio and also the first day of pre-production. We are recording in a city just outside of Orlando called St. Cloud in Florida. I was a little hesitant about the city itself on the drive down from Jacksonville as we passed endless acres of a mix between cows and nothing. However, as we got closer to the studio, we were greeted with signs of placelessness and typical society so my comfort level began to fill, but I digress.
We are recording an E.P. with producer/engineer James Wisner who has worked with bands such as Paramore, Dashboard Confessional, and Underoath. We believe we're in good hands and we're really excited to see what James has in store for the new CD. We brought our friend Eve down with us to document the recording process on film which we will be releasing that on a date still to be determined (hopefully sometime soon).
I plan on writing an update article everyday and uploading pictures for anyone who is interested in following the process of recording this EP. Feedback is cool so feel free to add it!

The Fight Night - Fuck You (Cee Lo Green cover)
Quite possibly one of my favorite cover songs, up there with TDWP’s Still Fly. Fuck YES.
i’ve never heard anyone sound this bad while using sooo much autotune.
Rebecca black begs to differ.
