honestly steven universe is a good show esp for kids and ill never forgive the tumblr freaks who tore it to shreds just cuz they had nothing better to do but try and make themselves feel superior to everyone else just out here enjoying a nice pastel cartoon about self acceptance and lesbians

Why is it that shows clearly geared towards children always tend to have the most toxic fanbases? (Steven Universe, Voltron, and She-ra)

Children’s shows teach morals and right from wrong. They’re ways of teaching children about how sometimes things aren’t always black and white, and how sometimes others are hurt by things some characters aren’t. They blatantly show that some characters- even villains- have insecurities and issues they are working through and tend to have a “everybody could use some help” or “everyone can be forgiven” message.

All of which tumblr hates.
