Hi! This is a really tricky question, because self-confidence is one of those things that means something different to everybody. To me, self-confidence means feeling comfortable and safe in your own body, and feeling like you can act the way you want to act without fear of judgement. I’m pretty sure most people struggle with it at some point, even adults. No one is 100% self-confident all the time. Everyone feels a little down on themselves sometimes - that’s totally normal - but here are a few thoughts on what might help if this is happening to you often:
(1) setting and achieving small, manageable goals. sometimes we set goals that are too big and then feel like failures even though you haven’t really failed. for example, people often set goals like “get an A in every class.” it would be much more manageable to set a goal like “improve my grade in english class.” this way, when you accomplish your smaller goals, you can move forward feeling more positively about your ability to do things.
(2) surround yourself with people who encourage and support you. if there are people in your life who are constantly negative or actively discourage you, try to find a way to spend less time with them.
(3) remind yourself that everybody around you has problems. no one is perfect, and no one’s life is struggle-free! like i said, no one has 100% self-confidence, not even people who are models or athletes or celebrities. all we can do is support one another and give each other positive reminders that just being you is enough.
