On Christmas Eve Eve my family and I went to enjoy the Aurora Winter Festival in Vancouver located on Pacific Boulevard. They also have one in Toronto, so if you live there don’t miss out!! I thought it would be fun to share what we did as well as some photos.
We got there around 6:30pm, which is probably around the more busy time as work typically ends at 5pm and dinner time is 6ish. You can always grab a bite from one of the delicious food trucks on sight. My sister had gone the day before around 4pm and she said it was a lot less busy and the activities had little to no lines compared to the half an hour lineups for activities we had when we went. However, there was no line up to actually enter the park and if you layer up the wait times are definitely manageable. It’s a very festive atmosphere as Christmas Caroles are playing from every speaker.

The rides are $4 for one and $8 for three but you have to buy the Ferris wheel ride tokens separately, First we went on the tubing slide which was super fun. The tube slide is 200′! If you are only going to do one ride I would definitely ride the Ferris wheel. The view from the top is stunning and definitely worth it. They also have skating for $7, the rink is pretty big and while you are skating you can see so many beautiful decorations. You can rent skates there as well.

The food trucks are at the heart of the festival and there are picnic benches where families sit enjoying foods from all different parts of the world. There are 12 diverse trucks. Of course my sister and I chose Italian, we had these delicious doughy pizza bites covered in tomato sauce and melted cheese. My sister could not stop talking about how they were the highlight of the whole night.
For me, the highlight was the garden of lights, the walk took us probably around half an hour. We stopped for some photos and there were lots of people, so it all depends on what time you go, how fast you walk and how many pictures you want. I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful displays, the atmosphere was so vibrant and inviting.
Walking around the festival you can window shop (or even shop) at 50 different little market vending booths, purchase a warm drink or listen to the live music under the big white tent (the perfect place to sit down and warm up). If you are looking for something to do tonight or tomorrow evening, I would definitely recommend the Aurora winter festival.
That’s all for today! Thank you so much for reading. Let me know which seasonal drink is your fave, or which one you are planning on trying!
