Part 1/3 - What if Dr. Denman succeeded in capturing the girls?

At first, it is just boring. So, so boring. The girls are separated from each other, kept in blank, white rooms without windows. Dr. Denman comes in and out with malicious smiles and long questionnaires and quiet threats.

Rikki rebels by singing obnoxiously. Christmas songs, mostly. Sometimes songs with obscene lyrics that'd make Emma, Cleo, and Lewis blush bright pink. If Denman tries to talk to her, she sings louder and louder and louder, so the notes become screams. She's never sung Jingle Bells so repeatedly ever in her life. She's never added quite so many sexual innuendos into Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Cleo tells stories. Once upon a time, there were three mermaids and an ugly witch. She invents more and more creative and morbid ways the witch dies. Limbs splayed outwards like the ugly frog she is. Chest wide open, revealing a lump of coal instead of a heart. Flesh burnt by one mermaid, frozen by another. Blood boiled.

Emma retreats into her mind. It's far more interesting up there. She is so ensconced in the world she has created for herself that nothing and no-one can pull her from it. Denman tries pinching her, then hitting her, then threatening her friends, then her family. She doesn't even twitch.

SO GUYS this is a little out of my comfort zone but i thought it was a bit of fun so lmk what you all think!! as above, this is part 1/3 of my dr denman idea, but part 1/7 (i think?? possibly 6) of spooky stuff!! (p.s. the unsavoury details bit wasn't too unsavoury this time but it may get worse so we'll see hehehe)

god i fucking hate this website lol. followers, mutuals, polls, drafts, posts detailing my work, my LIFE, interactions, thousands of them, GONE in seconds. i've made some silly little posts about h2o and some incisive posts about disability and chronic illness and politics and culture that i'm proud of, and i may never see them again. the r/tumblrhelp subreddit is flooded with ppl whose accounts have gotten nuked out of nowhere and they wait days, weeks, months for a response from staff just to hear nothing. like why is anyone still on this website (me when the call is coming from inside the house)
