SPEECHLESS! I saw Carly in Wonderland 4 times last year and she was amazing then at 12 years old. But her role was much younger. She absolutely KILLS this audition :)
I LOVE WATCHING THIS OVER AND OVER just to see the judges reactions :D I was SO lucky to see her in Les Miz on Broadway and in Wonderland the Musical 5 times in Tampa :D
OMG dying inside! Elina garanca (MY IDOL) singing D'amour l'ardente flamme which is the song that I am currently working on :) <3 <3 <3
So I am still in the never ending battle of questioning whether I'm a dramatic soprano or a mezzo...It's so suspensful!!!! I know that I'm only 23 and my voice is still growing and blossoming but COME ON I wanna know already...ok enough of my ranting...
This is Dramatic Soprano Eileen Farrell singing "Mild and Leise" from Tristan und Isolde
Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long since I've tumbled...but here is the new piece I'm working on :)
D'amour l'ardente flamme from Berlioz's Damnation of Faust
Sung by Marilyn Horne
Rolando Villazón as Chevalier Des Grieux and Anna Netrebko as Manon Photo by Robert Millard.
“Cease Ruler of the day to rise” Dejanira’s air from Handel’s opera “Hercules” sung by the world dominating mezzo Joyce DiDonato.
I don’t even have a comment worth saying because I am speechless.
This is actually perfect.
(Also more lying down and singing, IT IS DIFFICULT)
A Real NYC Singing Lesson!!!!
So I'm kinda really excited and nervous about this...as I've stated in my blog I'm currently studying opera privately and my dream is to persue a career in opera. My vocal teacher is an opera singer and is constantly working on her own career. Which is really cool because most of the teachers I've had in the past just went to school for music and didn't really have a career. But any who, she takes vocal lessons from a very renowned vocal teacher in NYC (I'd rather not name drop :P) and recently she talked to him about me and the journey that I am on with singing, and she wants me to go to NYC and have a lesson with him :) :) :) And ironically a few weeks ago my brother (who lives in NYC) called and said that I should come visit this December. So the lesson is set up and I will be going up to NYC to have a lesson with him in December 17 :& kinda really nervous because he's taught some very famous ppl and he also is on the teaching staff of AVA (American Vocal Academy), where i would LOVE to go to study opera! :) But I hope it will be an amazing experience! :) *fingers crossed*
…and again.
Stride La Vampa - Il Trovatore - Dolora Zajick
I am SUPER excited because Dolora Zajick is coming to do a master class at my school on the 18th of November! Sadly only the university's opera students can actually participate and since I'm privately trained I can't sing for her :( but atleast I can sit in and observe :) The reason I am really excited is because Zajick is pretty much the most famour Dramatic Mezzo of her time and she specializes in training dramatic voice faches. I found out about a year ago from my vocal teacher that I am a dramatic soprano! So singing for her would be amazing...mabye I'll get a chance sometime in the future :)
Elina Garanca - Dopo l'oscuro nembo - Bellini
Here is a video of Anna Netrebko when she was 21
Its really cool to have footage of netrebko so young!
O Divine Redeemer - Gounod
A new sacred piece I've started!
I know I've already posted an audio version of this aria, but now I am completely obsessed with it :) I started this peice a few weeks ago and I can't stop randomly singing it everywhere I go :P Ah the joys of being a singer!!!
This is amazing! :)
oglorianna:
The costumes are a bit over-the-top but Damrau’s performance is amazing. Favourite part: 4:05 to 4:43.
Erwin Schrott, Anna Netrebko - You is my woman now
