I don't think I could ever fully articulate how special your art is to me if cried with emotion over your sanin swap au, I adore and laugh at your semi horny hilarious Naru/MHA content

It's inspired me to pickup a pencil again at last as a 35yr old man at a low point in life who hadn't put pencil to paper since he was 15

i'm curious - what's your take on the female characters in bnha vs. in naruto? your posts about bnha have been making me interested in picking it up again, but the treatment of the female characters has just always been too grating to me, which was less of an issue for me in naruto (even though the misogyny is also def there). ig i'm just curious to know if you noticed a difference for yourself while reading :D (and maybe how you dealt with it so it wouldn't make you insane-)

Much like with Naruto, i think its bad but bad in the way like every shonen series is. The toughest women are horribly mutilated in order to take them out of the final battle, the girls never shut up about their relationships with boy characters, etc etc.

BUT female characters are NOT sidelined in big battles. Nothing as egregiously disrespectful as Naruto 693 happens to Ochako. She's got her own villain counterpart AND they got a tragic gay thing going on so like, +10 points.

UNLIKE with Naruto, there's a lotta goofy ass poses. Girls aren't exactly gainaxing all over the place, but with the skimpy spandex suits and the author's penchant for fanservice, it's not exactly innocent. Idk about the anime cause I'm a manga girlie, but it can be very off putting especially in scenes you're supposed to take seriously.

It's so frustrating how it feels like there is a tradeoff. You get more well-rounded female characters, but in exchange they have to have fanservice at inappropriate times.

Horikoshi draws the best fucking muscles on women ever though. When they just look badass and awesome and aren't doing those contorted Hawkeye Initiative poses, it's sooooo satisfying. Cathleen Bates, your arc may have been not good but you will always be dear to me.

u have an interesting perspective about my hero academia, ive heard so many people say that the ending/last arc suck? i never not around to them though, i did like the first arcs a lot, but then smth happened and i abandoned it. might actually finish it if you think the second part of it is good!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: BNHA's ending is way way way better than Naruto's, but that puts the bar on the ground lmao

There are some stinker arcs (Joint Training Arc didn't need to be that long and the Star and Stripe Arc made more plot holes than it fixed), but it's war arc was WAAAAY way way way better than Naruto's.

-ALL the main characters have interpersonal relationships with their final opponents, making fights more emotionally satisfying.

-The main theme of "anyone can be saved" is emphasized through every fight, where as Naruto's main theme about not giving up on reaching others really only resonated with Obito.

-The falling action/resolution of the story have room to breathe and are not crammed into 1.5 chapters

-The bonus epilogue is about the characters discovering new dreams ALONGSIDE their main goals, and aren't all about who got married and what their offspring look like.

-There is no giant clam fight

I'm not saying it's perfect, but the thing with ALL long running series is that endings are ALWAYS going to disappoint people because we all want different things to be the focus of the ending. For instance, a LOT of people are mad about Izuku "settling" on being a teacher in the ending and only getting to be a hero again when his friends find a way to give him powers. Which I think is CRAZY because how did they NOT see the main guy who idolized his teacher becoming a teacher in a story literally called My Hero ACADEMIA.

stop wait i love that sasuke x bakugo are like angsty about fucking each other but naruto x izuku are like “hell yeah let’s consentually project on each other! how fun! 😀” LIKKEEEE sasuke and bakugo are just closing their eyes and won’t speak of it again but izuku and naruto are like “okay now sasuke would say THIS” or “kacchan would definitely put his hand HERE” and the other one is like so down to play their part and also it’s like a weekly occurrence for them 😂😂 i love your brain and your skill tysm

no i just got disheartened by how little people seemed to care after I would do I post that took months to formulate haha.... I still have plans and I know what I want to happen, I just feel like people don't care.
