Last month I spent a day in the emergency room (I’m fine, it was not an actual emergency, but the healthlink nurse wanted to rule some things out). I went first thing in the morning and my husband left work to take me. We were there all day and I hadn’t eaten anything, so we stopped for dim sum on our way home. I was unshowered, with messy hair and grubby clothes and when we walked in we realized it was a very elegant place. Luckily my husband looked good. I took a selfie because the situation was so absurd but I truly look so terrible in the photo I can’t share it.
