So much love (at Stearns Wharf)
Xander during the after game breakdown and discussion, "some kid on the other team hit me in the nuts with the ball." (at Lincoln Park)
White Ferrari begins with a simple sonnet and a slight hum of keyboards. A few ticks from a drum machine. Then a strum of a guitar. Ocean's voice bends and shifts. Strums again. Flashes of white noise and then back to his singing. Ending with the hum of a keyboard and way down in the mix, a drum beat to silence. It's cinematic and it's beautiful. Ivy is my favorite, "I thought I was dreaming when you said you loved me." Nikes starts the album with remembering Trayvon and A$AP. Even through the helium voice filter, you can feel his pain. Some artists grab me emotionally(drive by truckers, Titus Andronicus, yo la Tengo) Frank Ocean, with his skewed version of Hip Hop and R&B has been able to do the same. (at Near Mt. Shasta)
She ran... This a picture of the mosh pit. You can't see much because I was being elbowed in the head and back, punched in the arm and bitten on my foot. (at The Regency Ballroom)
Here we go! (at The Regency Ballroom)
Waiting... Also, very excited I'm not the oldest person here. Woman in her fifties here, was obviously dragged to this by her husband. Poor woman is wearing heels and has a fancy purse. She looks like she wandered in from Neiman Marcus. I truly hope there isn't a mosh pit. (at The Regency Ballroom)
Tonight's concert? @parquetcourts Imagine if Lou Reed and the Velvet Undergroind were born in the 70's and grew up on a diet of The Modern Lovers, Pavement, Television, and others. RIYL: the Velvet Underground, Pavement, Modern Lovers, rambling stream of consciousness about dust getting into your apartment and having to sweep over and over again. Very smart lyrics. (at San Francisco, California)
Here comes the fog (at San Francisco, California)
Game time (at AT&T Park)
That time @arlanpope thought it was okay to touch my shoulder, and .... I kept smiling. #neveragain #happyanniversary #aweeklate #iwasthere (at Loomis, California)
So someone was shot playing #PGO Nobody told me about the dangers when I started and at level 22, I can't just quit. #YOLO #dothekidsstillsaythat the dangerous life as a Pokemon trainer. #gangster (at San Francisco, California)
Tonight's concert? Blitzen Trapper. From achingly beautiful folk, glam rock with killer guitar solos, to stories about killers that sound like Neil Young worked with Dr. Dre. So happy to see them with Cousin Britt while he visits from China. RIFYL: Neil Young, T Rex, acid fried country, 70s am radio (at Harlows Restaurant & Night Club)
So true, from the article: No band in the past decade has worked harder to reassert the notion that rock ‘n’ roll is capital-I Important than Titus Andronicus. Everything they do is powered by the belief that listening to rock ‘n’ roll can save your life and that playing it can save the lives of others. To ensure that transformative tradition carries over to future generations, they've resorted to the most extreme measures—epic narrative concept albums, encyclopedic cover-song selections, relentless touring, 9,000-word essays on The Replacements. If their records can overwhelm, it’s not due to their length, but because their commitment to hitting you on all levels—physical, emotional, visceral, lyrical, spiritual—never wavers. (at San Francisco, California)
And @spinmaster_j thinks I take PGo too seriously... (at Old Sacramento)
#work (at AT&T Park)
Thanks to my friend Tory. He let me finish ahead of yesterday for 4th place in our age group and 12th overall. Top of the state 10k. #ilovetolistentotitusandronicuswhenirun (at Weed Carnivale)
