“I can imagine, being a spirit you don’t really need to sleep so it’s nearly impossible for you to dream on your own. Hanging out in there must get boring after a while I bet.”

Dream manipulation... it sounded just as cool as necromancy, maybe even cooler. Maybe he could learn it, for fun. “Well, in any case, it sounds like an interesting ability. Especially fora necromancer like myself.”

That was true, since he really didn’t need to dream often, and up until this dream, the dreams he had were empty. “Yeah. Spending at least a thousand years in there with nothing to do... it gets really tedious, almost madness-inducing,” he admitted.

He stared at his form, and nodded. “Yeah. Since I inhabit an amulet normally, being a spirit and all. Otherwise, I’d just be in my soul room, and I can’t really dream there.”

It probably would have hurt less to be electrocuted. “To be fair to me, raiding tombs for jewels was difficult in the olden days when they built many lethal traps to dissuade people, and there wasn’t much to learn in a village of thieves.“ Not that he could, since the village got all liquefied into those items, including the one he stole and wore (and not like he cared, it was more his pride hurting than any insult to the dead village).

“Granted, my attempts to kill people don’t always succeed. At least they’re far more successful than my relationships,” he admitted with an awkward grin. “I guess I could probably learn those cards and try to get people to give me their money while I pretend to know their future. At least that’s something in my abilities, right...? And maybe my acting skills could use some sharpening, too...”

[Ahaha, I apologize for not being on the past few days. My internet just wasn’t cooperating, school started up and I’ve got morning classes as well as a class on Saturday, and I started getting into Love Live and Steins;Gate. So, the usual applies. Like for a starter.]

“On the upside, you could always work as a negative example. Just put on one of those free flowing black cloaks, walk from village to village like one of those dark prophets to warn people about the risks of giving in to evil… Why, you could actually do some good that way!” Most of all by serving as further amusement to Rosary. 

“Actually… what other talents do you have?” That was a serious question for once. “Maybe there is something more worthwhile you could do after all.”

Work and do good? ... Well, the fact that the job description at least sounded like some sort of trolling at least sounded fun, rather than actually doing something fairly against his nature. Plus, it’d be nice to wear dark robes, since he didn’t get to wear that trench coat as often as he’d wanted.

His other talents...? “Well, you know about my apparent necromancy, ad my ability to steal things, usually successfully. I’m also fairly good at card games when I’m not up against the hero or main villain. And tabletop RPGs.”

“Well you should be able to yes now that you know for a fact this is a dream.” The corrupted scenery soon began to wash away into an empty field with soft purple mist and glowing stars with a crescent moon overhead. “But I dunno how spirits work. I didn’t even know spirits could dream until now.”

“My dreams tend to be a little empty. I’m kind of surprised I’m dreaming tonight.” He reached his hand out and tried to change the layout of his dream, imagining a small town in ruins for starters. “Maybe it’s because I have a body to dream with? Do you regularly visit dreams?”

[Word of advice: video editing is a stressful hobby. It’s mostly the other people who stress me out, though. It drained most of my inspiration for the past few weeks. People will ALWAYS make stupid excuses and try to guilt trip you when they’re wrong for not getting stuff in on time.]

Stability or Lack Thereof

             “Well, Bakura, considering several thousand years have passed and I am no longer a pharaoh, just what exactly were you expecting? At some point the fighting gets old and fighting with you got old centuries ago. I am not interested and anyway, I am retired from dueling. You will simply have to find someone else to hand you your ass. Have you tried Kaiba? Honestly he still looks quite stressed out. He could use a warm up duel for old time’s sake otherwise this is what you get. Join a club, take a cruise, get a job——— the opportunities are endless Bakura. Do not waste another chance at life by hanging onto old grudges. I am sure you will always remember some things, but such shouldn’t deter you from finding a way to enjoy your life.”

To say this was quite a shock was a understatement. Time had seemed to mellow out his old foe, and honestly, Bakura was at a loss of what to say or do. He really didn’t have much of a life outside of revenge, and... given that he had realized that it would be fruitless to continue to go down that path, apart from what the old Pharaoh had suggested, there wasn’t much to do. Granted, he had actually made some acquaintances after so many deaths and trials and errors, but... it was really something, to realize that apart from revenge on his ego, he was more empty than the grave that should welcome himself.

“... Heh... I suppose you’re right...” Bakura closed his eyes, feeling some sort of bemusement. “I would assume it was hard to move on, after all you went through? Because frankly, for me, that’ll be fairly difficult.”
