Craig Detheridge, the creative force behind Original Dark Poetry is a tortured, frustrated, poet, writer and bassist resident in England, with an interest in anything macabre, supernatural or horror related. This includes dark artwork, books, poetry and movies. Visit our review page for must-read horror novels. He has been writing original poetry and rhyme since around the year 2000. It began as a way to release inner feelings and frustrations but was not generally macabre or dark in nature. These pieces soon morphed into the Original Dark Poetry creations he still writes until this day. He often takes inspiration from the likes of Edgar Allan Poe’s famous dark poetry, H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic horror fiction, Clive Barker‘s horror fiction and Nick Cave, rock music’s Prince Of Darkness, to name but a few.
