OpenTissue is [a collection of] generic algorithms and data structures for rapid development of interactive modeling and simulation.
Free for commercial use, open source under the ZLib License.
Bullet is a Collision Detection and Rigid Body Dynamics Library. The Library is Open Source and free for commercial use, under the ZLib license.
GiPSi is an open source/open architecture framework for developing organ level surgical simulations. Our goal is to facilitate shared development of reusable models, to accommodate heterogeneous models of computation, and to provide a framework for interfacing multiple heterogeneous models. The framework provides an intuitive API for interfacing dynamic models defined over spatial domains. It is specifically designed to be independent of the specifics of the modeling methods used and therefore facilitates seamless integration of heterogeneous models and processes. I/O interfaces for visualization and haptics for real-time interactive applications have also been provided.
Precise 3D & 4D surface imaging and analysis of the human body.
BodyViz is affordable, easy to use, innovative software that's bringing 3D medical visualization to the forefront of technology. BodyViz creates incredible 3D MRI, CT scan visualizations, all quickly and easily created from a patient's MRI or CT scan data.
Our core mission is to significantly enhance medical professionals’ visualization capabilities over all existing standards resulting in improved diagnosis, planning, and treatment, and physician productivity. The end result is to save lives.
ITK is an open-source, cross-platform system that provides developers with an extensive suite of software tools for image analysis. Developed through extreme programming methodologies, ITK employs leading-edge algorithms for registering and segmenting multidimensional data.
The Visualization Toolkit (VTK) is an open-source, freely available software system for 3D computer graphics, image processing and visualization.
VisTrails is an open-source scientific workflow and provenance management system that provides support for simulations, data exploration and visualization.
Biosense Webster
Our products range from a broad line of diagnostic and therapeutic catheters to pioneering navigation systems that enable electrophysiologists to map the pathways of complex arrhythmias with remarkable accuracy and to offer their patients a cure through advanced cardiac ablation techniques.
Robot and sensors integration for computer assisted surgery and therapy
The goal of Robocast project is to realize a robotic system to assist surgeons performing brain surgery through a very small hole in the patient’s skull.
Neuroengineering and medical robotics laboratory
Medical Robotic Section (MRS) of Neuroengineering and Medical Robotics laboratory, which is part of the Bioengineering Department - Politecnico di Milano University, is aimed at developing innovative methods and devices for clinical and surgical applications.
Main current research topics at MRSLab are:
1) Surgical planning and navigation
2) Surgical robotics
3) Micro-devices for surgery
