Raeven hadn't been since for days. That much was clear to everyone that knew him. No one had heard from him and it went without saying that everyone was beyond worried for the small kat. He knew that and he felt terrible for what he was doing, but he was scared. Of himself. He didn't want to risk hurting or even killing those that he cared about. He couldn't stop Crowe. He couldn't control him. It was safer this way, in his mind at least. He was hidden in his hiding spot only few knew of.
Beryl had searched everywhere else for Raeven, until she had managed to discover him in his secret hiding spot. She could tell that something was up with him, and if she was being honest, she was incredibly worried. Everyone was. Though she knew that running away from problems would only make them worse, especially if he was alone.
“Raeven, I know that something’s up.”
{Beryl}
Beryl just placed her claws on his shoulder, looking him dead in the eyes. She was going to be blunt with him right now, since she felt he needed to hear the truth. He may not like it, and it may make things a bit strained between the two, but to her, it’s what he really needs to hear right now.
“And you think hiding is going to help anything? Trying to face this demon alone is only going to make things worse. If this… thing does take over your body, what’s the first thing it’s going to do? Come out of this place, and at most it’ll only slow it down. It may not be easy, but you have to face this thing head on, with other people by your side!”
[💎] The runt-sized black kat looked into the green eyes of his friend. His expression held terror. He was scared beyond belief. He never expected he had a monster inside of him. Something that he had little to no control over. But at the same time, he would have been lying to himself that he wasn’t grateful that someone had found him, despite his best efforts to hide away. Dealing with this alone wasn’t good, he knew that, but it was something that he thought was the best thing to do. It was in his nature to protect others and he thought that this would keep them safe. Even if it wouldn’t last, it would give them time.
Yet doing this would only do more harm than good. He couldn’t handle this by himself and he knew that. Crowe was a powerful creature far more than what he was capable of keeping under lock and key. He had already taken over once and despite the fact that Raeven had no memory left behind when he did, he was left to deal with the aftermath of what his dark side had left in his awake. And it was then that he had taken to hiding like this. He was afraid of himself of what he could do. He wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if those he cared about ended up hurt or worse because of him.
“I-I know….” he admitted, tears beginning to well up in the corner of his gold-colored eyes. “But I-I can’t… I can’t fight him… I… I didn’t want you or anyone else hurt… I thought this would be the safest thing… Crowe would have to take time to leave this place, buying you and the others ti-time…. I just wanted to pro-protect you….”
“Well, I for one would never abandon you. If I did, then what kind of friend would I be, huh? It doesn’t matter if you have a monster in your body or the very embodiment of the end of the universe, you’re still my friend ya bonehead.” Despite the circumstances, she gave a grin before gently punching Raeven in the shoulder. “Sides, I think Goldie might be able to help with keeping him pacified until we can find a way to remove him. She’s able to help keep Vanta from going on a bloodrage, and he’s similar to Crowe from what I understand.“
She understood full well that he was just trying to protect her and everyone else, but it was still pretty stupid of him to face this kind of thing alone. She’d be with him every single step of the way, no matter what happened. Maybe one day after all’s said and done.... .... No, not yet. There’s still a lot of work to be done before she’s willing to settle down. Highest on her list of priorities being destroying whatever abomination has dared to manifest inside of Raeven.
