Hi, its Grey! The owner of the Public Otherkin Discord server. Here are this week’s updates for the server:

We will be hosting a community event next week Monday during the Great American Solar Eclipse! We will share pictures and information about this astrological phenomenon in the #community-events channel on the server. 

In this week’s community poll, we will be asking everyone to tell us more about their identity/kintypes! We want to show off the surprising variety of the members of the server. The link to the poll will be available in the #announcements channel

P.OD.S. Weekly Newsletter - Week of 8/7

Hi, its Grey! The owner of the Public Otherkin Discord server. Here are this week’s updates for the server:

Members can now create and host their own community-driven events in the #community-events channel. Information on how and where to create an event are available in the pinned post on that channel.

We have implemented a new rule! Rule 15.  Please no lengthy/excessive Role-Playing in the chat. Although role-playing has never been much of an issue on the server, since we have been enforcing a defacto rule of no role-playing, we might as well create an official rule about it. We view excessive role-playing as being obstructive to the chats. We do not feel that a separate role-playing channel would be useful, and that it would not contribute positively to the image of the otherkin community. 

There are no upcoming events scheduled on the community events calendar. Again, existing members are welcome to create new events by following the information given on the pinned post in the #community-events channel. 

This week’s community poll will be asking about the way our channels are set up. Please vote in order to help us understand how we can improve our channel spread, or vote to let us know that you like things the way they are! This week’s poll will be available on the #announcements channel.

Under New Management

Hi, I’m Grey! I’m the new owner of the Public Otherkin Discord server. In fact, I have been the new head admin for quite a few months now, but only recently was invited to help run this Tumblr blog.  Our conception as a Discord server was rather rocky, we get that. There were numerous trolls and “troll raids” that made the server all but unusable for its members. Over the past few months, troll activity has drastically decreased. This is also due in thanks to our server Bots, who handle the noisy spammers as soon as they happen.  Other than that, things are much the same as they ever were. Our mission is still to provide a public Otherkin Discord server that is open to all no matter their kintype or background. The only people who are definitely not allowed are trolls and troublemakers.  If you would like to join, our join link as always is Discord.me/otherkin *Keep in mind there is a brief waiting period between when you first join the server and when you will be able to post. This is to dissuade the people who are only there to cause trouble to look for their entertainment elsewhere.
