The brunette girl takes a deep breath as she tugs her sweater sleeves down over her hands, tilting her head a little. “I know… but sometimes, I can’t help thinking that it must be something to do with me.. you know,” she speaks softly, nose scrunching. It’s not very often that Kezrah exposes her insecurities, she’s tries to make it seem like she has no issues but that’s not true. Underneath everything, kezrah is quite an insecure girl.
It saddened Monika to see her so upset, and to hear her say something so untrue but she supposed she could relate to it regardless. The brunette closed her laptop entirely and put her full attention on Kezrah. “I do know,” Monika sighed slightly before continuing. “but you can’t let yourself believe it. If you do then you’ll never be able to let that thought go - you’ve got a lot to give and a lot of the time that might be taken for granted but not because of you but because sometimes people aren’t capable of understanding someone’s worth.”
mclliflvous:
“Big and brown. Is that a compliment?” He wasn’t sure if he was being complimented or not. He doesn’t get them often, unless their from Aunt May but they don’t count. She’s supposed to compliment him. Listening attentively to her, he folded his arms across his chest. What she was saying was making sense and he hated the fact that she was getting closer and closer to the truth. Yes, he’d love to tell her that he was in fact Spiderman but he couldn’t. “I’m not Spiderman, Monika.”
“Sure if you’ll take it.” She replied not too worried about the repercussions about her words being a compliment or not. Monika simply wanted to get to the bottom of this for real, she knew he was Spiderman, there was no way around it really but to just come right out and say it instead of him telling her? It wasn’t right so she would just have to keep coercing him into telling her on his own terms. Monika’s shoulders slumped as he spoke, it looked like she wouldn’t be getting her way today at least. “Fine, whatever you say.” She spoke as her eyes looked over at her phone she’d left beside her to see the time. “Well Not-Spiderman, I should probably head home soon.”
mclliflvous:
Obviously Peter had to be more careful when it comes to being in the suit, he didn’t know that she had caught a glimpse of him in it but it was bound to happen. Surprisingly enough, Aunt May hasn’t seen him in it. Maybe she has but she hasn’t mentioned it to him yet or even if she was going to mention it to him at all. “Oh, you’ve noticed my biceps are getting bigger? Oh, Monika. My eyes are up here,” He told her, pointing up at his hands. “Not down there.”
A blush spread across Monika’s cheeks but she pushed through with her statements despite the embarrassment that came from him thinking that she would look at him in any other way. “Even if your eyes are up there, big and brown as they may be, they can’t hide that fact about you Peter.” Monika explained with a small shrug. “You’re looking much more athletic, you’re hiding from me most of the time and all of sudden you have some secret internship I can’t know about? All while Spiderman is out there saving lives? It’s kind of starting to add up in a crazy theory sort of way.”

Tempest remained rooted to her spot for a moment, frozen like a statue, before she let out a long exhale, ripping her gaze away from Monika. When she spoke again, she forced herself to keep up her usual flippant tone, the “I don’t give a damn” tone she used with the cops and her the other girls at school alike, in spite of the chills that were beginning to creep down her spine.
“Fuck, you’re being weird,” she said. “Come on, Monika, we have the festival in a couple days, and I promised Yuri I’d help her get some things together.”
She turned, making her way to the door, fishing her car keys out of her bag.
“Come on, let’s go.”
This would all be fine tomorrow. People had a way of forgetting arguments quickly around here.
Everything was fine, everything was fine, everything was fine, e̶v̷e̷r̸y̶t̶h̴i̷n̸g̸ ̶w̴a̷s̶ ̶f̵i̴n̷e̶,̴ ̷ȩ̷̝̠̯̣̇͐v̷̙̬̉̄̍͊e̴̫̜̤̒̏̚͠r̶͇̅̿̚͠y̷̧͓͙̓̒̊͑ṯ̵̨̝̅h̷̙̽̈i̴͖̗̋̅̀͐̚n̶͎͓̠͕͍͑̎̐̈́ġ̶̺͉͍̀̓ͅ ̶̬͗̈͊̾͝w̷̩̲͈̹̃̃̂ą̷̮̦̺͌͆̃̊̚ṣ̸͖̦̪͚͋̈̆́͝ ̷͚̮͓̬͒ͅf̸̧͆̍͛̇ḭ̶̀̚n̷̝̭͈̥̞̐̅e̷̡̛̥̺̍̉͘,̶̲͔̱͋̾̈͂ ̷̢̹͉͈͂̌̂̅, Ë̷̫̭̱̜̘͕́̊̎̿͊̑̽̃̏̈́͂̈͒͐͋͠V̷̢͓̤͎̲̭̼͈͔̬̹͎̽̔̅͛̀̈́̾̒̌̈͗͒̉̊͂̍͠Ė̴̡̥͕̗̭͇̌̎̄̎͛́̀̃̚̚͜ͅR̴̨̧̭͕̩̥̭̦̮̤̭̂̈́̒͘͜Y̶̖̪̰̤̞̞͙̬͎͙̲̲̐T̵̨͓̪͐̾̀̓H̴̢̢͔͇̲̮̹̤͎̋̍̅̀̓͊͒̈́̃͛̅͗͂ͅĮ̵̢̛̱̻̤̱̻͔̤̣̬̠͚͚̞͈̀͗̒̊͆̑̽̒̄̊̓͒̊͗͘͝͝N̵̨̼̤̭̄G̶̢̡̛͙͓͔̟̅͛̓͆̍͑̀͊͌͂̃͑͑ ̸͈̝͉̞̻̟͇̠̰̩̜̞̹̾͒I̴̲̬̭̠͕̻̰̱̗̲̣̣̜̞̩̣͗̋̇̓̐̎͂͂̃̐̔͆͘͜ͅS̵̫̣͙̝̪͎̅̓̽̉̉̐̎̊͆ ̸̢̟̞͇̣̬̫̣͈̙͓̞͕͇́̑̌̏̽͂̇͗̇̈̕̕F̴̡̫͙͍͍̦̳̯̬̔̏̽̕Ĭ̸̟̘̊̀̆́́̑͒̓̀̚N̵̳̤̟͈̳̓̍̌́̌̉̀͑͆̀̀͗̿̿̿̉͠͝͝ͅE̷͈̘̟̟̪̰̪̺̱͆́̇̌̈́̍͆̌͒́̈́͆̍͆.̵̳͛͝
Monika remained seated, and even crossed her legs as she watched the pieces of her work begin to take form. She hardly cared for Tempest’s tone now, it would all be over soon and there’d be no need to worry about the turn of events that had taken place between the two of them. Soon enough it would just be the t̵͖̩̺̦͈͖̮̟̞̋͊̂͋̍̑̊̔̍͘͜͝w̵̨͍̟͖̹͉̫̭͍̲̞̞̠̏͗̈ͅõ̶̧͕͗͂̂̄ ̸̧̨͇̬̹͙̈̾̄̆̓̍̕o̴͚͉̎͋̑̄͑̑͛̓͂͒̂̅͘͠f̶͕̖̋̇̑͒̈́̃̑ͅ ̷̞͍͍̭̤͉͍̺́̈̽͑̄̾̿̃̋͘͝t̷͈̘̘͍̩̝̦̋̒̅́͋̏̔̕̕h̸̢̙̟̭̘͚̳̜̒̇͘͜e̵̢̧̡̨̪̯̥̠͓̪͓͈̞̓̾̊̏̓̋͊͠͠ͅm̴͔̓͂͆̎̅͠.
“Oh right the festival and Yuri - I still can’t believe you chose to help her. Doesn’t she kind of freak you out? ” Pain surged throughout her body at the faint memory of the argument the club had a few days ago over who Tempest would be helping this weekend - it cut her deep emotionally.
“I told you to stay here Tempest.” Monika replied calmly, folding both hands in front of her as she remained in place. “Just for a little while longer? For me?” She asked teasingly, hell bent on turning back to her sweet and endearing everyone loved and Tempest was no ë̴̯͖̼́͒́́x̴̯͓͈͖̉͗̈̌͛̃͋̾̍̀c̶̖̮͇̘̯͓̳̙̹̼̥̈̕ę̴͓̖̤̯̙̗̳̖͌̌̆ͅͅp̷̢̘̣̥̼̯̮̯͉̑͆̓̾͘͘t̴̼͉͉̿̈̈i̸̜̙̞͙͓̲͑̉͒͒̌͋͒̃͆̉̚͘ͅo̶̯͎̗̼͕̫͖̖͆̃͐͑̃̽͜n̶̡̹͉̦͇̰̞̝̹̒͂.

His eyes are stuck on her, he wants to ingrain her reaction in his mind forever. He was never able to do anything nice for her and it made him feel like a shitty boyfriend, so moments like these would be few and far between. He watches her closely and at the sight of tears he laughs a little bit, ‘ baby, no, don’t cry, it’s just a bracelet. ’ he wraps his arms around her, hugging her lightly. He as so scared that se wouldn’t like it or scold him for spending money or anything but what her real reaction was. ‘ I’m so happy you like it. ’
The brunette could hardly contain herself after the sight of his gift to her, it was too much it was beautiful and it was something completely unexpected. She didn’t mind not being showered in gifts like she heard in books or in the occasional movies she watched - Yuri just enjoyed spending time by his side, she’d gladly do so with or without a thank you like this. “Just a bracelet? That’s hardly it.” Yuri chuckled slightly through the tears that streamed down her face. Her eyes glance back up to him as Thierry held her in his arms, “ I love it, it’s amazing and wonderful - just like you.”
mclliflvous:
Peter Parker, how she has you sussed out. You should just give up now and tell her but he wasn’t going to. He might if she keeps egging him on about it but right now, he was trying to stay strong. For crying out loud, the woman was his best friend, she was the person who he told everything to but obviously not this. He can’t. “Stark has nothing to do with it. I really see Tony anyway. I work with Happy… He’s not very happy.” He laughed, trying to turn the subject onto him.
“Geez that’s a bummer..” Monika huffed, acting the part of giving up on her Tony Stark theory but it sat pleasantly at the back of her mind while she would try to focus on the real question at hand. It was practically confirmed through Peter’s avoidance and lack of real answers but she wanted to hear it right from her best friend and not the glimpse she’d caught of him in the suit a couple of nights ago. “Well if it’s nothing to do with him, what do you actually do at your intership? Does it have anything to do with how your biceps are getting bigger?”
pomegrcnctes:
The sudden change on Monika’s tone took Tempest by surprise. Dark eyes snapping up to Monika’s face. her hand instinctively curled around her sketchbook, taking it back without any further discussion. Even as Monika’s normal sweet voice returned, and her words became less sharp, Tempest kept a steady, steely gaze on her.
She didn’t take well to being ordered around.
“The hell’s gotten into you?” she asked, not really expecting an answer. She didn’t respond to Monika’s comments. She didn’t want to.
It was silent.
Jesus, where was Sayori when you needed her? She usually broke tension like it was made of porcelain.
Finally, the moment passed, and Tempest broke eye contact.
“We should probably get home,” she said, stowing her sketchbook back in her bag. Forcing herself to try and let it go – it was probably nothing – she stood, waiting for Monika to follow suit. “Do you need a ride?”
She’d been to Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki’s houses a couple times each – hell, she gave Sayori a ride to school when it was raining – but she’d never been to Monika’s, and Monika had never been to hers. In fact, she’d never seen Monika outside school.
Monika watched as Tempest’s eyes snapped up to her and it became clear to her that her outburst could not be covered by her sweet nature. She watched as Tempest’s hands curled around her sketchbook before speaking up.
Just as she was taken back by her own tone, she was further pushed with Tempest’s reply to her. Did she really just say that? Does she hate me now? No, no, n̸o̷ ̴,n̸̝̼͛̐̏͘͝ȍ̸͙̊̋͋͋̌͝... The words continued to repeat in her mind as her heart sunk lower and lower.
In an instant the eye contact was broken and the brunette’s head lowered, gaze now remaining on the area of the desk where her sketchbook had just been, when things had been fine and where in an moment it all went wrong.
“We should probably just stay here.” Monika ordered once again, there was no holding it back anymore - she didn’t want to do this but she had no other choice. Tempest would leave and she would leave everyday and Monika didn’t care to find out which day she wouldn’t come back.
Lifting her head back up and smile plastered on her face she continued her act while turning her glance over to where Tempest stood. “Trust me, there’s nothing out there for you anymore, T̵̖̘̀̇̍̋͝ é̶̞͓̱̯̜̋̊̍̃͘ m̷̛̰̫̼̱̖̜͎̅̏̄͆ p̵̧̧̹̯̈́̄̒͋̂́̑ͅ é̸͎̥̘̤̔̍̉̑́ s̷̪̘͙̜̎͛̿̒̆ ť̵̜̘̼͖ . ”

He reaches his furthest without getting out o f bed, receiving the pair of denim he’s tossed on the ground only a few moments ago to pull out a small little black box. He doesn’t open it, he wants her to have that but inside was a white sapphire and pearl bracelet that he was finally able to get her. Even though it was only around a hundred dollars, having that amount to spend on jewelry was rare. Thierry wan’t the type of guy to shower his girlfriend in gifts so he feels a bit shy about giving it to her. ‘ Just a little thank you for being there for me. ’
Slowly but surely Yuri began feeling more awake thanks to all the movement that he was making on the bed in order to reach for something. She felt a little nervous now that she knew it was a surprise, whatever it was she was sure she’d love it but with each passing second she could feel her heart speed up a little. The brunette eventually sat up a little so she could properly take a look at what it was, it seemed to be small and square - a box? “T-hierry?” She asked nervously as her hands reached out to take the small token from him, opening it slowly to reveal the beautiful bracelet inside. “Oh my gosh!” She gasped the second her eyes laid on it. ”It’s so beautiful, I-I can’t believe you did this.” She could feel her voice breaking a little, along with the brim of her eyes lining up with tears.

He knew she was onto him but he kept his act up. His God awful act of trying to cover up the fact that he wasn’t Spiderman. Peter knew he’ll end up caving in but he was trying his best to cover it up. Hearing her mention the Stark internship, he swung around in his chair before stopping and facing Monika again. “What about it?” The boy spoke casually. If he acted clueless, maybe she’ll get off his back.
“Come on, this whole thing with Stark totally has something to do with it right?” She was eager to know if her suspicions were true and the smile on her face totally showed it but she wondered how long it would take for Peter to break if at all. She didn’t see him as the type to stay strong for so long so this would either happen now or never. “Maybe I’m just reaching with Stark but how cool would it be if they were in on it too?”

kezrah sighs gently as she pushes her laptop away, “sometimes, i wonder if there’s something wrong with me.. y’know?” she speaks, resting her chin on the heel of her hand as she gnaws on her lower lip. “like, people leave me or cheat on me and it’s just..” she shrugs and shakes her head. “i don’t know..”
Monika looked up from her laptop as soon as she heard Kezrah speak up, just like she always would when she spoke but felt a little sad when the words were registered. “huh?” Monika spoke in a whisper, unsure of what she meant at first and worried about what she might say next. “There’s nothing wrong with you,” Monika argued, her brow furrowing slightly at the idea that Kezrah would think that. “If anyone leaves you or cheats on you or anything like that then that’s their problem Kezrah, not yours. You’re wonderful, for anyone to do that stuff to you willingly? I wouldn’t understand.”
pomegrcnctes:
“You like them?” Tempest repeated with a small smile. “I sketched these in sort of a time crunch. It feels like the deadline is creeping up on us faster every day…”
She had no idea how right she was.
“I still haven’t decided what I’ll do when I finish high school,” she admitted. “I mean, I want to work for Trinity, of course. But now that we’ve gone international, I’ll have some choices to make. I guess it’ll depend on how expanding Trinity Designs into Japan goes. If Dad has offices set up here, I may stay and work in one of those – he’ll need someone to run things, since I know he and Papa don’t want to live overseas forever. But if things totally blow up in our faces, I may be back in Los Angeles. Or in the London or New York branch. Or maybe I’ll go to design school before officially working for Trinity. I don’t know.”
If you’d asked her three months ago, Tempest never would’ve imagined staying in Japan longer than she had to. It wasn’t that she disliked it – the prospect of living in Tokyo had been exciting to her, even if she didn’t speak the language especially well. (She deemed it a minor miracle that most people seemed to understand her just fine, in spite of her lack Japanese-speaking skill.) But lately, it felt like there was something in her head… nagging at her. Telling her that staying in Japan after graduation was a real option.
Sometimes it felt like the only option.
What was the point of going back to Los Angeles with Dad and Papa if they were always going to be on F͙̝͈͎͔̅̏͑͒̾ͮ̅ͬ͟A̞̺̦̹̱̩̼ͩͫ͐͜S͑ͯ͗̊̀̿̂̚҉̡̖͍̙̳̀Ţ̯̖̗̒ͥ͋͐͛́́ ̧̼̯̗̪͉̗̞̍ͪͮ́͒ͩͣ̄̈́͝͡F̢̠̪̱͖́́̕O̴̘͍̪̻̟̠̾̊͜R̵̯͖͇̪͔̠͛ͩ̄̒̓̚̚͝W̴̡͈̥̺̩͈̃̈́͌Á̸̧̼̰͈͖͊͐̆ͥ͢R̴̗̠̹͉̾̐̊́̽D͛͛͐͒͐̑҉̣̠̩͚̕?̸͖̬͔͔͈̐̃͌̇ͨ̿͝
“I really do,” Monika reassured her, eyes taking a small peak again at the pages again - it was hard not to look back at them from time to time, they dazzled the brunette to no end. “That definitely takes a lot of skill - I can’t imagine getting anything like this done ever.” She explained.
Finish high school, the words rung in Monika’s ears when Tempest uttered them and for the first time in a while she felt a little shaken. Once they were done high school there wasn’t really anything to keep them bound to the literature club, more specifically her and the more Tempest’s potential plans were laid out in front of her, the more worried Monika became. Fast forwarding time wasn’t really helping her in the long run now that she looked at it objectively, if she kept it up - there’d come a time where it was over. Despite the roaming thoughts in her head, Monika kept a calm composure and tried tuning back into her words like they weren’t cutting through to her core.
“You should stay here.” Monika spoke in somewhat of a commanding tone rather than her endearing voice she was accustomed to. It wasn’t often that type of voice came out of her, but she felt threatened by the prospect of her leaving - she wouldn’t let it happen. Clearing her throat, the girl tried readjusting her tone. “I mean, if everything works out here in Japan then you should stay - the lot of us would miss you if jet back home or to London or any other Trinity Branches you mentioned but I guess that’s not really up to you entirely.”
pomegrcnctes:
Tempest couldn’t quite explain it, but somehow, the name Monika jumped out at her.
“Monika – would I know her?” she asked. “Which one is she?”
“Oh she’s in the clubroom right now,” Natsuki answered as she pointed behind her to the classroom. Internally she rolled her eyes, Monika really gave an impression without even being around. “Want me to introduce you?” She asked, gritting her teeth as she did so.

Hearing her words, he got a little more awkward. Tony had strictly told him not to tell anyone, he didn’t trust many people and nor he should. Peter shook his head, moving to sit on his desk chair and he turned to face the girl on his bed. “Y’know, it’s just a coincidence. Like, wow. Spiderman is here but where did Peter go? Doing homework that is.”
Monika’s legs swung a little off the ground from where she sat on his bed as she watched him sit across from her at his desk. Adding distance between them was definitely another sign Monika took into account but didn’t yet say anything about it - it was telling but what it was saying was still a little unclear. “Like every time though? I dunno unless you’re always sporadically doing your homework I can’t buy it. What about this new stark internship?” She added. “Seems oddly close around the time Spiderman popped up.”

peter looked at the other, his head moving to the side. he was trying to keep his little, no scratch that, big secret to himself and the rest to of the avengers. “me? spiderman?” he unconvincingly denied. “how on earth did you get that accusation?”
Monika chuckled, she could already see Peter tensing up which she could try and draw a conclusion from but decided against it as it was a little fun to see how far he’d go to cover it up. “It just sort of came to me,” She explained rather vaguely. “You always seem to be nowhere around whenever there’s a glimpse of Spiderman - how interesting right?”
