Yesterday, you were very tired, and had a really long tantrum. You wanted Gracie and bula. You wanted “more” (of what, I still don’t know), you wanted mama with papa and papa with mama. It was tough.

Then, you snuggled up next to me and too a sweet morning nap. We haven’t napped together in so long. That might be one of the last ones we ever have. And it was wonderful to snuggle up with you.

Then we took a walk around the neighborhood and went to the tack store down the street. You let a bunny, played with their horse toys, and spent about an hour just looking around.

At one point, you sat on a bench, rearranged two pillows to be right next to each other, leaned against one and patted the other, and then said “c’mere Mama.” So I sat next to you and put my arm around you. Then you told me, “you’re the best day ever.”

I melted. Every day with you is the best day ever, Bug. I love you so.

Independence

On Sunday, we were at the cousins house. You were jumping on the trampoline and having a great time. Papa was outside watching you.

You: wanna go in, papa?

Papa: ok. Are you all done? (Then he walked toward you to get you)

You: no, papa. You go inside.

You are starting to be so independent. And it’s great to see. But hard because you are less our baby these days.

Independence

We went to Gracie & Oli’s house on Sunday. You had a great time on the trampoline, as always. You were jumping away with the cousins, and papa was watching you.

You: Papa, wanna go inside?

Papa: yeah, are you all done? (Then papa went to go get you)

You: no. You go inside.

You wanted papa to leave you alone. We have a lot of this to look forward to. You want some independence.

Tonight, papa held Bobcat and I did your bath and played with you for a long time, just us. We played a “find the bear” game. It involved growls and hugs. It was so nice to spend some time with just you. I missed that. I also miss holding you.

We did bath time as well. It is so fun spending time with you. I love you.

School

I just watched you run into school with papa. You had a little spring in your step and ran ahead of papa. It is so different than at the beginning of the school year. You are growing up so fast and getting so independent. I love it. And I am so proud of you for so many reasons. But I miss my baby bug, too.

A Lovely School

This morning, Grandma Nonna asked if you have a nice school. You said (after thinking about it for a bit, “it’s a lovely school.” You are too cute!
