(Nov 10th), 7pm, @mopasd will be screening CHULA/JUANA by @jo_kami News clippings are played over a series of meticulously composed shots of Chula Vista, California, where our unseen protagonist--an undocumented Mexican family-- is unexpectedly deported to Tijuana, Mexico. An homage to Chantal Akerman's structural film "News from Home", "News from Chula/Juana" is a geopolitical meditation on the cultural anxieties and alienation faced by millions of deportees today (at Museum of Photographic Arts)
