“Yeah, I would imagine that it would be hard to find privacy.” She wiped at the tattoo as she looked up at the girl. “I’m from Huntington beach. I grew up moving around a lot, but that’s where I was born. A beautiful place if you ever get the chance to see it.”

“Sounds wonderful.” Morgan said with a smile upon her face. “Always wanted to travel, see the world...” She added on as her smile fade and her eyes drifted to the world outside. “But with my father’s enemies and the press around every corner that will never happen.”

Lindsay played with her fingers, something she did when she was nervous or avoiding looking at someone. She felt like their relationship was a lie in a way since he hadn’t been completely transparent from the beginning. He knew about her life, but it seemed she didn’t know his at all. “Why did you just tell me from the beginning?”

“There are many reasons.” He admitted, no longer wishing to keep any secrets from the brunette beauty on his right. “Mostly I was afraid, not many woman want to date a man that’s a century older than them.” He chuckled, before a sigh broke through his lips. “That and there aren’t many people who are kind to people with powers, so I’d much rather keep my past to myself.”

“Georgia, huh?” She was raised on the West Coast but during her college years, she traveled the country with her best friends in a van, trying to find themselves she guessed. She just ended up here. 

“Yeah, had a little cabin on the lake. Peaceful really, never had to deal with the constant press wanting to know what my father was up to, or if I’d turn out like him.” Morgan replied with a sad smile on her face. “How about you? Where are you from?”

Once in the car, she kept her eyes to the ground. She was confused and still shook up about what had happened. She felt like she had known him well up until this point, but it was clear that she didn’t. “1825.” She repeated, sighing. “Wow.” She didn’t know how to process any of this. 

It was a lot to take in, his true age being well over 100 and yet he looked no older than the woman in the passengers seat. He didn’t know what to say, was he suppose to apologize for all the lies he’d told her since they’d first met? Sighing he slowed to a stop at a red light, thinking over how to tell Lindsay his life’s story. “All three of us were born with the power to evade death, along with controlling the elements. Des controls water, I control fire and our younger sister Jocelyn controls the earth.”

It had been nearly 2 years since the night her family was massacred, and still to this day she could still hear the screams of her mother and siblings as they were gunned down in cold blood by the De Luca family. Since that night she had gone from being the head the most wanted crime family in Britain to a Government assassin, a Double O, promised revenge upon those who’d taken away all she cared about.

It certainly wasn’t the life Élisabeth envisioned, she’d believed that she’d continue her father’s work, leading the Beaumont family like he had for many years, yet sitting in a small cafe under the New York Skyline was much better than behind bars. Setting her cup of tea down on the table she left a small tip for the man who’d waited on her, gathered her stuff and started down the crowded streets blending into the crowds as she made her way towards the apartment she’d been given while she awaited further instructions from the woman who’d given her a second chance at life.

Hayden started doing the outlines, paying careful attention to the details. “Yeah?” she glanced up on occasion but her focus was on the tattoo. “How long have you been in New York for?”

“A few months now. He wanted us to be closer instead of traveling back home during the weekends.” Morgan replied, whining in discomfort as Hayden went over a tender area. “It’s nice I suppose, but I miss the seclusion of Georgia.”

Lindsay took a step back to look up at him. “Yeah, you should tell me the truth.” She was afraid, but more of the female who was taken away than of him. Though now she was looking at him differently and she didn’t like it. 

Nate ushered the terrified brunette towards the waiting car, trying and failing to keep Lindsay from seeing his sister as she was carted away in the back of an unmarked vehicle. When she was seated in the passenger’s seat he sat down in the drivers, pulling away from the building and towards home. He remained silent for a while, before a sigh broke through his lips and he finally spoke. “I was born on October 21st 1825, my mother was a Lakota woman and my father an outlaw.” He began keeping his eyes on the road as a frown set in on his face.

I do apologize for my absence as of late, between the current world situation, to work and Animal Crossing I’ve been busy. But for the rest of this month and next I’ll be more active.

“That’s nice.” She smiles as she starts on the piece. “That’s sweet that you have that kind of relationship.” She wished she had a relationship like that with her family. 

“Yeah well for a while he was the only guy I knew.” She confessed with a sigh, keeping her eyes roaming the wall to distract from the discomfort. “Went to an all girls school for a while before he decided to move us to New York.”

Lindsay let her fingers brush over his cheeks for a moment as she held him close to her frame. She knew this had to affect him far beyond the physical pain that the female inflicted. “I’m so sorry.” She mumbled against his chest, not wanting to turn him loose. 

“I should have never got you involved in this.” He said, standing up right, wiping the blood that had begun to fall from his nose as he sighed avoiding any eye contact with the young woman who clung to him with fear in her eyes. “Suppose now I should tell you the truth.”

There was nothing that Lindsay could do to help and it broke her head, moving to her knees to Nate. “Making him suffer isn’t going to change anything.” She was crying, seeing how much visible pain he was in. “Please.”

She left him go, avoiding any eye contact with her twin brother as SHIELD agents stormed the room, finally taking her into custody. “One day brother I’ll make you sure the same pain I’ve suffered for over 100 years.” She said as they led her away, leaving Nate and Lindsay alone in the room. He sat up, watching her leave muttering out a silent apology to Lindsay, as tears rolled down his cheeks.
