Introductory Post

Welcome to the Overdeveloped World Project. 

This is a project I envisioned while reading an article discussing the term “underdeveloped country”, and its use primarily by Western culture to describe their perceived superiority to other countries via a list of issues wrought from being “underdeveloped”. 

The same article described that from a different perspective, most if not all Western countries could be described as “overdeveloped, for the skyrocketing rates of anxiety, depression, disparity, and negligence present in our cultures. 

I hope this project can be a collaborative effort to display how these broader ideas affect individuals on a human level, through art, poetry, prose, etc. As much participation as possible would be greatly appreciated!

Guidelines: 

Submissions can be a composition created by the submitter or a link to a pre-existing piece (so long as credit is attributed to the original creator. Submissions that do not accredit the original creator will be rejected. 

Submissions can relate to any of the themes listed below, however, they are not limited to them. Submitters are free to contribute works pertaining to other not-listed topics, so long as they are pertinent to the general aim of the project.

Free speech will be fully acknowledgedin regards to submissions so long as the posts do not specifically target an individual person. Submissions will be considered based on content and pertinence.
