West Berlin Potsdamer Platz June 1986.
The Berlin Wall at Luckauer Straße 1985. The car is a pre-1982 Opel Rekord.
Dazzle! It’s a glittering prize...
The Berlin Wall 1985. - Anarchie Vaincra -
Berlin Leuschnerdamm looking south, with the Berlin Wall on the right, in 1985. The road crossing over the end of the street is Waldemarstraße. The vehicle seen left, sometimes called a ‘Hippy Bus’, is a Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi, short for Kombinationskraftwagen, as it had a combined use for passengers or cargo. They were made in Europe from 1967 to 1979, but had a long afterlife abroad, especially in Brazil.

Berlin Leuschnerdamm 1985. Looking North towards St.-Michael-Kirche which can be seen over the Berlin Wall centre right. The actual border ran along the front of the properties on the right, though the Wall was always built a few meters inside East Berlin territory, which here gave some access, though limited, to the houses.
I hate the misconception that introverts don’t like talking. If you’re the right person, we’ll talk to you for hours on end about pretty much anything. However, it’s incredibly difficult to find the right people, so for the most part we’ll probably just stay quiet.
East Berlin Auguststrasse at the junction with Tucholskystrasse in 1985.
The Berlin Wall seen from further along Bernauer Strasse. Rheinsberger Strasse on the East Berlin side is very much restricted by the Wall installations and fences. I am being photographed as I was taking this shot by a guard in the watchtower. I also took a close-up which shows him, see it here from my posting in May 2018.
At Potsdamer Platz 1986. A Zündapp KS50 Brommer parked foreground. M-Bahn, Weinhaus Huth and the Berlin Wall in the background.

Berlin Wall 1985. Je t’aime Francis.
Berlin Boyenstraße 1986. This road practically ceased to exist during the period of the Berlin Wall. All the houses on it were demolished, and it led practically nowhere. A creepy place I found it, with the buildings facing the death zone seemingly sliced in half. Those buildings were marked on the map as a hospital.
Berlin Bernauer Strasse 1986. The Berlin Wall crosses over the junction with Ruppiner Strasse.
The Berlin Wall on Bernauer Strasse 1986. This guy appears to be running a car repair business right up against the Berlin Wall.
West Berlin March 1986. A view down Bleibtreustraße from the platform of S-Bahnhof Savignyplatz.
