it just occurred to me-

cannot stop thinking abt au where danny successfully removes his powers and how that would actually play out for him...

i find danny's contradicting feelings towards his powers (oh fuck yeah i'm a superhero! sweet! / why do i have to be the one responsible for this all the time? why can't i just take a break for one day?) are really fucking interesting. so I really can see him removing his powers in a moment of frustrated impulse, if given the opportunity.

the problem with that is, that while i think he'd be happy for a while, it wouldn't take long before he's always thinking about how much he could be helping people if he just still had his powers. he can't be normal, because he will always have the thought of "i could have done something about this," every time a ghost attacks.

and i don't think that he would be able to stay out of ghost fighting, even if he couldn't get his powers back.
