Nervousness riddles him, making his movements awkward and the laugh that slips free, stilted and broken. "A-ah...No. It was...I couldn't -" Stolas struggles to find the right words. Blitz had welcomed him with ease, offering shelter for a time and even a job. But Stolas couldn't quite bring himself to accept. So the moment he was able, he parted ways. "It's better this way, I think."
With his own place, and a different workspace, Stolas barely had enough time to dwell on his misery or the feelings that still gnawed away at him from the inside. His heart still yearned for Blitz, but the events of the trial left an open wound that had yet to heal. He couldn't be the only one hurting from it, and Stolas didn't want Blitz to be responsible for him. Not anymore.
"That sounds lovely!" He tries to tamper the eagerness in his voice, but it does little good. White orbs blaze with tears starting in the corners, a smile turns the edges of his mouth. "Just give me a bit to create a spare key. B-but you're welcome to text me any time. I may not reply right away, but I will always make sure I respond the moment I have freedom to do so." He pauses, looking away for a moment. His heart felt as though it were fit to burst. When Stolas returns his attention to Octavia, his smile is sad, softer.
"I know I can't...fix things. But I appreciate the chance to...to do...to be better. It means the world to me."
He shakes himself after the confession, plumage ruffling briefly before he lets a shaky laugh bubble free. "Oh my! How serious! Ahem... Ah... Would you, would you like anything else from the cafe, or to...to talk about anything?"
