Background art for the banner I made for Kammellion. This version doesn't have the chameleons or the pixellated transition between segments. From left to right, the games featured are: Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Undertale, Pillars of Eternity, and Plague, Inc.

The officially-sponsored English tutorial studios for Manga Studio 5 claim that the pixellation is there if you want to make your illustration look like something out of an old video game. That's... not why that feature is there lol, but hey, now at least one person's used it for that purpose.

Chekhov's Collectible - Electron Dance

How collectibles have cheapened game secrets and killed the urge to explore.

Saturating games with important secrets encouraged players to see space itself as purposeful. Virtual space cost memory, therefore we assumed developers wouldn’t have just frittered away memory without good reason...

The mass-produced collectible has nothing to do with an intimate relationship between the developer and the player and in fact this particular door swings the other way - I feel abused.
