The longer this bizarre surprise of a hang out goes on, the more Elias starts to feel less like an actual date and more like an owner buying his dog some new treats. He’s led around back out of the store, watching the back of Matthias’ head curiously, like he can’t really help himself. Honestly speaking, Elias is a little… confused.
When he met Matthias again, after the game most likely, he was expecting to be met with… he wasn’t sure what he was expecting. It certainly wasn’t a trip to Honeydukes and an extra sugar quill. Elias slides the candy into his bag this time, to make sure it doesn’t break, and glances back at the back of Matthias’ sunlit head. It’s still a tad early for it to snow, but it’s fast approaching, the leaves a deep browning red, and the gryffindors blond locks match the scene almost too well.
Against his better judgement, Elias sighs quietly and grins at his shoes, exasperated and relieved all at once, “Chivalrous loser. Did you even come to Hogsmeade for anything, or are you just window shopping? I heard there’s a new formula out for broom wax if you’re interested…” He doesn’t really mean to sound nosy or desperate, but Elias can’t help it, the way he finds himself wanting to spend a little more time with Matthias’ attention. If it’s going to be short lived, he might as well take advantage of it while he can.
Matthias seems to perk up at the idea of getting broom wax, especially if the match is going to be as close as Elias says it will be. Plus, he’s been neglecting his majestic stead in favor of getting more and more practice in so a nice waxing from quality product couldn’t hurt. He gives Elias a shining grin.
“A man after my own heart. Yeah, let’s go look at the wax, I want to treat my broom,” he says and looks around for the shoppe in question, spinning in a tight circle. Matthias settles for the fact that Elias is the one that relayed the information to him, he more than likely knows where to find the wax. The Gryffindor takes a step towards Elias and looks akin to a puppy eager to take a walk with its owner. It’s almost possible to see the golden ears sprouting from his blonde hair and a wagging tail...
Suddenly Matthias spins around and a bolt of fire erupts from his palm, melting the snowball that had been flying to the back of his head. The Gryffindor captain barks a laugh at the group of boys approaching, looking merry. He talks to them for a second before gesturing behind him at Elias, to which the boys give knowing mischievous smirks.
“I’m already here with someone, I’ll talk to you guys later,” Matthias says and they bid him farewells, giving kissing faces to Elias once he turns his back to them.
