Hey so, if you think Catherine of Aragon wanted war between Henry VIII and Charles V because of the annulment, you’re a victim of misinformation.

CATHERINE DID NOT WANT BLOODSHED.

Several letters, two of which were written by her own hand, state that she didn’t want there to be any military conflict. She wrote this directly to her nephew and had Chapuys and Charles V send messages to the Pope discouraging any violence. Stop listening to Tik Tok “historians” who are heavily biased against Catherine of Aragon. They don’t know shit and are actively trying to make her look bad.

From a letter written to Chapuys: “ I shall not ask His Holiness for war; that is a thing I would rather die than provoke.”

From a 1534 letter to Charles V: “Yet I do not wish that, for my sake, blood should be shed or that the peace between Your Majesty and the King, my lord, should be disturbed.”
