harassing a woman who has a laundry list of past and ongoing traumas she has shared with us and has lived through publicly isn’t funny it’s insensitive and extraordinarily tone deaf. it’s one thing to show genuine concern for her after she mentioned she’d never been to therapy, but to make a mockery of her work and the spectrum of human emotion she’s exploring through folklore and evermore and reduce it to ‘lol taylor go to therapy’ jokes for reblogs and retweets is just gross. taylor’s gone through a massively public sexual assault trial, shared her struggles with eating disorders and her anxieties of fame and living under a microscope and lack of privacy and stalkers and dangerous people breaking into her homes, shared the unimaginable pain of having a sick parent, and the pain and betrayal of having her life’s work sold twice in just over one year, and you all think it’s funny to tell her to go to therapy every single time she releases sad music. she’s brave enough to be vulnerable with us and if i were her i’d be so fucking tired of my fans yelling at me to go to therapy. i’m sure no one meant anything malicious by all these jokes but like please have a pulse on what you’re saying and who you’re saying it to. stop with the “go to therapy” meme as if it’s easy to trust a stranger to help you cope with a lifetime of traumas especially when strangers are the people you’ve been actively shutting out of your life at all costs since 2016 as a form of self preservation.
